“Our favorite place to stay on Sanibel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013

We've stayed here several times and are always very happy with whatever condo unit we stay in. The kitchenette is well equipped; the porch is a bonus and very private; the bed and bath are clean and comfortable. We love the location, steps from the Gulf and a short walk to the Bay and to shops and restaurants.

Room Tip: We book our unit over the phone and let the ladies in the office choose a place for us. We've n...

We stayed at Colony Resort for April break. We will definately be back. Check in was so easy and so friendly and our Condo was just perfect! Very clean upon arrival and everything you need like the comforts of home. Clean towels are provided for you on a daily basis. The pool was nice, although not a lot of seating for everyone. But it's so warm outside and the pool is just the right temp, it was fun just hanging right in the pool. We were in walking distance to the Lighthouse some shops and also the Lighthouse cafe. The beach was right behind our Condo and it was nice to get up in the morning and stroll the beach, and look for shells of course. Highly recommend Colony Resort!!

I booked one night during high season at this resort and was pleasantly surprised! I expected the worst, especially in light of the reasonable rate and that they had availability but lo and behold it was excellent! The room was HUGE! It had three rooms plus a lanai!!! We were right adjacent to the pool and to get to the beach was a five minute walk. The amenities were clean, with a fully-stocked kitchen (plates, glasses, cookware, forks & knives, full-size fridge, micro, stovetop). DON'T HESITATE BOOKING HERE! The staff was very amenable, too!!! LOVELY. Will be back again.

We stayed at the Colony Resort for Spring Break. Loved the condo! Nice decor. A great king sized bed and sleeper sofa. Plenty of storage with two closets in the bedroom and one additional closet in the living room where the sleeper sofa is. The condo met all of our needs and had beach chairs for our use. The office let us use one additional beach chair. Staff were great, check-in and check-out where a breeze. The location is off the beaten path a bit which we really enjoyed! We found a bunch of our best seashells at low tide at the beach within walking distance from the Colony Resort. The only bad thing I can say about the condo is that the shower head was short and we are all tall, so we had to duck a bit. That is my only complaint! Not bad! Would recommend the Colony Resort for families looking for a nice quiet place to stay within a short walking distance to a nice beach! Thank you Colony Resort!

Stayed in unit C-43 for 5 nights. It was a great find. An easy walk to the beach and the pool is never crowded...there is plenty of seating around the pool and even an upstairs deck for sunning. The condos are older but are very well maintained. The bedroom has 2 beds and there are 2 couches...one is a sleeper. The kitchen was well stocked with dinnerware and glasses, full size refrigerator, microwave, stove. They even offer a military discount. The area surrounding us was very quiet too. Definitely recommend this place.

What a lovely resort! We had a wonderful stay and already look forward to our next trip. The management staff was so friendly and made us feel very welcome. The proximity of the Resort to the beautiful beach was ideal -- a short walk to a very peaceful beach and great shelling! We were so impressed with our room (C-6) that we will be sure to request it in the future; C-6 has a newly renovated kitchen and bath with a beautiful, walk-in tile shower like no other. It is nicely decorated, the kitchen is well-equipped, and the king bed is super comfortable. Beach chairs and umbrella are stored on the screened porch which is very convenient for taking to the beach. Breakfast at Jerry's was fun and strolling the beach to the nearby lighthouse was relaxing. Short walk to East End shops, restaurant, and ice cream shop. We can't wait for our next opportunity to return -- highly recommend it to others!

We chose Colony Resort based on reviews and the fact that it was available on a nightly basis- most condos in the area require a 3-4 night minimum stay. The staff was phenomenal! So friendly and helpful; they really went out the extra mile.

Stayed in c-20, decorated cute with some updating. It's a huge hotel room or a very small apartment, take your pick ;) All units have the same floor plan. The king bed was comfy, kids slept on the pull-out and had no complaints. The room was comfortable and quite clean ( my only minor suggestion would be to wipe down the top of the micro and fridge front). Loved how the sleeping areas were split Jack-and-Jill style by the kitchen/bath area. It gave everyone some privacy without being completely cut off. We cooked 2 meals there and found all the pots, pans, dishes, utensils we needed to cook and eat- would suggest a colander for draining things. Really appreciated the dual a/c units in the two separate rooms, it made things comfortable. This room also included chairs out on the screened porch to take to the beach. It's an older building so it has that older building feel, but everything we saw around the property was well maintained. I think each unit is up to the owner inside so check out Colony Resort's website before booking.

We stayed just the one night so didn't have a chance to use the community bikes or pool but would love to do so on a return trip. They also had picnic tables and a couple of grills available. It's off the beaten path and close to the beach, a short walk. We loved the location because it's quiet. We would definitely come back and recommend it to others looking for a cozy little condo to stay in.

Room Tip: Look through the photos directly on the company website, you can see each room that way and pick one...
