We had dinner here for the first time and thought it was a great spot in Sanibel. We were a party of 5 (3 adults and 2 teens). We had called ahead for a reservation earlier in the day as it was Easter week and we were able to get the time we wanted (within 15 minutes). We were seated promptly at a table in a room off to the side which was quiet though somewhat sparse in terms of decor.
Our server was quick to take a drink order and describe the specials. My husband was beside himself when he learned the evening's special was a full turkey dinner! (I guess he had his fill of seafood the rest of the week.) He and my niece ordered the turkey dinner complete with mashed potatoes and gravy, sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce and green beans. I personally thought they were crazy but they loved their meals.
My son had the NY Strip which he said was fantastic. My sister ordered the salmon and I had the Penne with Shrimp - both very good though I wished I would have had the salmon after tasting hers. The Penne dish was average.
We ordered two appetizers - crab cakes and their special onion rings. The crab cakes were OK - I've had better - and everyone loved the onion rings. They were sliced very thin and had a light batter- delicious.
The wine choices were adequate and our "by-the-glass" selection was excellent (Greg Norman merlot) and a generous pour.
It was apparent that this place draws a lot of locals and a repeat clientele. We noticed servers greeting several tables by name. We had a really good meal here and we will be back! (My husband can't wait to try the Liver and Onions. lol)
