The Sunset Grill is a small (6 - 8 tables inside, 6 or so outside) upscale eatery on the west side of Sanibel just before Blind Pass.
Although my wife and I were dressed business casual, we were disappointed to see others dressed down as the plates here for dinner run on the pricy ($30+) side.
A word to parents - not a place for kids as the atmosphere was geared towards adults. (no distractions for kids in the slightest).
Our dinners were prepared with care and brought to us by a waitstaff of 2. We ordered fish that was prepared with flavor and style - paired it with a couple glasses of wine & finished things off with an absolutely delicious pear tart. (think pears meet sugar cookie)
Only downer was a loud group in the back of the restaurant. As there was no ambient music to drown them out, my wife and I could barely carry on a conversation. Also felt like the waitstaff could have been a little more cordial and attentive. They forgot to put in our appetizer order. That said, they humbly apologized for the mistake. I had hoped to see a little discount on the dessert but no dice. That was the only reason I didn't give them a 5.
I recommend this restaurant to any looking for a quiet, romantic, freshly prepared meal in an area typically void of quality food.
