“Great - not your average cheeseburgers and shakes!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 15, 2013

We loved the huge cheeseburgers cheeburger cheeburger offers, good thing we were hungry! The meat inside one of our cheeseburgers was kind of pink, realized that when I was halfway through eating it... The shakes menu was HUGE! We had a hard time deciding which favors to choose! Our waitress was funny, and suggested things to try in the menu. We will return next winter!

“Good burger”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 14, 2013

Lived up to the positive reviews. I got the classic burger and it was delicious. We liked that the kids meal came with a choice of carrots, fruit or fries. milkshakes were awesome.

“Build Your Own Dissappointment”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed January 27, 2013

There is nothing like the waitress asking what fixings you want on your burger to make it your own and forgetting half of them. My son ordered a shake with his favorite things and that was not correct. There were five of us and not one order was correct. Everyone had something wrong. What's the point of asking if they get it wrong? Food took forever to come to the table and the place was empty. Chili cheese fries actually made us all sick. Food was so so and it was actually one of the more expensive restaurants where we ate. Spend your money somewhere else.

“Onion rings are fantastic and great burgers.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 27, 2013

Our family of six went here in early December when the whole island is in low season so we were seated immediately. The portions for the fries and onion rings were enormous. We ordered fries for 4 or 5 and that was more than enough. The onion rings were the BEST I've had anywhere. They were more onion and less breading. When you bit into them, you didn't pull out all the onion with your teeth and get a ring of leftover breading. Each bite was onion with just the right amount of breading. Not nutritious for sure but if you're going to eat them now and then, these are the ones to eat. We all loved our burgers and the fries too. We waited until the end to order malts and ended up splitting one because we were stuffed. There is always room for ice cream though so that was a bit lame on my part (Mom). Still, one for each or even halves would have been too much.

The service was just OK and I can see how it would not stand up to a crowd. The center area (party area?) was unlit with gave the entire restaurant sort of a dreary aura. The server knew NOTHING about beer. I asked for something local and then took her suggestion. Although it had some shark-type name, it was not even from the South! (Indiana I think it was.) It was served warm and the frosty mug couldn't fix that. Another time, I would send it back.

We normally eat in the rental condo when we visit, having found the restaurants on Sanibel less than memorable. (Except for trip to the Lighthouse Cafe for breakfast once on every visit.) I think we'll go back here next time and just make sure the beer is cold!

“A 50's throwback”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 27, 2013

This was a bit like stepping into a time machine: hamburgers made to order (with an extensive list of things to add to it) with sizes from 1/4 to one pound and made from fresh, not frozen beef. Something like 30 flavors of shakes (and they're big), great onion rings and fries. The only thing lacking was a juke box. Friendly and attentive wait staff and a spacious dining area. A refreshing change from a typical burger joint. And, oh yes: Pepsi, no Coke.
