Another of my favourite eateries on Sanibel the Flamingo does not pretend to be anything other than a sports bar.
Having said that the food is pretty darned good and their seasoned fries are to die for.
I was there 19 Sept and even though many places were either closed or very quiet the Flamingo 2 was bustling.
Very attentive waitresses and prompt service.
Well worth a visit.
Very kid friendly. The staff was very nice and our meal came quickly and was very good. The prices were reasonable.
We thought the food was just average here. The atmosphere is more like a bar than a restaurant. If you are looking for a real casual spot to sip on a beer, then you would be comfortable there.
The Lazy Flamingo is our favorite casual spot on the island. I'm surprised at the negative reviews. Love the fried grouper, the caesar salad and the raw oysters. Barbecued shrimp special is great but they don't often have it. Lots if ice-cold draft selections. Friendly efficient service.
A lot of hype about this place, but I just don't get it. We did conch fritters and the Fried Grouper basket.
The fritters were bland, and the portion was average. The Fried Grouper basket was good, but at a cost of $16.95 for lunch it seems overpriced to me.
The service was excellent, The surroundings were kind of dumpy.
I would probably not come back with so many better places to eat on Sanibel.
