Grandma Dot's had the quickest service on the island, but the quality of the food didn't suffer. Grouper was excellent! Accompanied by a vegetables and a fruit cup with chocolate shell! Excellent french fries for kids or picky eaters.

My wife and I had lunch there on 2 occasions. Fun place, food very good especially if you like everything fried. We would definitely eat there again although I don’t think I would go there for dinner.
The place had glowing reviews and we wanted to try it, but they would only seat us at the bar because they said that everyone had to be seated by eight 'o' clock, and with the wait time, we wouldn't make it. I wasn't about to pay that much to sit at a bar with a bunch of cranky yanks so I left......maybe next time i'll get to eat.
We recently spent a few day on Sanibel Island. On our way off the island we stopped at Grandma Dot's for lunch. We had a great meal and loved the location. Our family loved the nautical theme. My boys were in awe of the big yacht's that surround the restaurant. I had a blackened Mahi Mahi sandwich and my husband had a grouper sandwich, both were excellent. If you are in the area, add this restaurant to your list.
If you are on Sanibel for any length of time, you will enjoy having at least one meal at Gramma Dot's. It is situated at the Sanibel Marina and offers a chance to check out the yachts and boat birds while waiting for your table. The food is above average and the atmosphere adult. The nautical theme is refreshing, if you have just been going to the beach restaurants; cute gift shop and t-shirts. The Sanibel Marina makes for great snap-shots; hire a yacht and check out the dolphins!
