We have been to Sanibel many times starting in 1990 and were hesitant to go to Gramma Dot's because of the name. Then in 2003 a friend told us 'we had to go' check it out. We now go at least once or twice on each trip. We were just down at Sanibel in early December and enjoyed lunch in the breezy screened in dining room with a glass of ice tea and a grouper sandwich. It's our favorite place on the island to stop for lunch. Service is always good when we are there. Sometimes you may have to wait for a table or sit at the bar, but the atmosphere is so pleasant its worth it.

i was told the food there was fresh but it IS not fresh the service was good expect for the fact that the way the "chef' in was talking to his wait staff it is a very small place and when i go out to eat i prefer the employees safe their bickering for after the resturant is closed, i might of gone back if it was not for the lack of disrespect coming from the kitchen!

I have to say the food was not fantastic. It was good though, no complaints. Very friendly service and we enjoyed being there. We had a really nice experience there. I ordered the dinner special and my husband got surf and turf. We also tried a sampler of fried oysters, crab balls, and coconut shrimp. All very tasty. Key lime pie for dessert was great too.

We had a wonderful dinner there last Thursday night; starting with the oyster crackers, it was THE best meal we had on our entire trip to Marco Island/Sanibel.

My husband, who does NOT eat clam chowder EVER, had a bowl of chowder as soon as he tasted mine! I had the fried shrimp and it was fabulous as were the vegetables and the potato.

He had the platter and just moaned through the whole meal! Just so good!

The Key Lime pie was out of this world.

It will definitely be on our way to AND from Marco next trip!!!
