We just got to Sanibel today and what a place. It is such a clean, bright island; we are enjoying.
We went for an early dinner at Grandma Dot's, which was recommended by Beth, the manager of Blue Dolphin Cottages (what a nice woman). I had the grilled Grouper with spinach & melted cheese (lunch portion), and my husband had the grilled grouper (plain, also lunch portion). My husband found the grouper a little dry and would not finish it. The lunch portion is a perfect size (and $10 cheaper than dinner) but comes with homemade potato chips and sandwich bread. The dinner portion has a potato croquet and a vegetable, but I wouldn't spend that kind of money for dinner at this place. In my opinion, it is overpriced. The dinner portions were $25.95 & $26.95 and the atmosphere/environment does not call for this expense. The servers were friendly, although our server was just okay; not much of a personality.
