Stayed at Casa Ybel for a week after the hustle and bustle of Disneyworld!!

Wonderful....very laid back and relaxing. No problems....just sun, sand, beach and pool!
The pool bar was good for lunch and we ate at the Thistle Lodge a couple of times which I highly recommend!
The maids did a good job of keeping the apartment clean.

When I got home I realized that I'd left my prescription sunglasses behind in the room. I called reception and they had found them and are mailing them back to me as I write this!
What great service!
This was our third stay there and it won't be our last!

My wife and I just returned from a 7 day stay at Casa Ybel. It was our second time here. The location and beach were great. Loved starting and finishing each day on the lanai, can't beat the view! Staff met all my expectations, they were responsive and polite. We had lunch at the pool bar one day and ran up from the beach for drinks another. Refreshing! The bartender was always good for a few jokes. We had no problems with the room, it was very clean and our one request for more towels had housekeeping knocking at our door in about 10 minutes. We are already planning our next trip to Sanibel and Casa Ybel.

The good reviews we read on this site convinced us to book Casa Ybel for our 10 day break on Sanibel. We wanted a laid back break close to the beach with facilities to suit our 2 boys, 8 and 4.
We were not disappointed. The staff were very friendly and attentive, and nothing was too much trouble. The apartment although small by Florida standards (but not by Sanibel standards) was kept immaculately clean, and was well equipped.
We did not eat much at the bar as we found the prices a little toppy. It was far easier to stock up at Jerrys supermarket at the end of the road, and to go out for occasional meals at the Lazy Flamingo or the Mad Hatter.
There were plenty of weddings going on during our stay, as it spanned Memorial weekend, and there were a large number of big groups staying. This made for a lively atmosphere, but it was fascinating to meet people from all over the US.
We will definitely be visiting again.

We stayed here for our anniversary 5/16-5/19/08 and had a wonderful, relaxing trip. The beach and views from the lanai were perfect. We had no issues with cleanliness - our room was cleaned everyday to our expectations. The pool bar had a great atmosphere and service level. We also enjoyed having our chairs set up on the beach for us directly in front of our unit with just a phone call in the morning. We will definitely return either with or without our children!

My Mother won a trip to Casa Ybel and from the reviews on Trip Advisor and the pictures on their website, we were VERY excited. When we got there, we could see a very outdated, unclean property. What truly surprised me was that everything was completely renovated after Hurricane Charley at the end of 2004 (told to me by management). I thought it was great that all of the condos faced the beach, but the housekeeping was a joke. There was so much dust and dirt in our room it was disgusting. We found the a/c we thought was a closet and the filter was so caked with dust, it was clogged. We called and had someome replace that. After trying to clean around where my son would sleep (very dusty plantation shutters, dust caked in the wicker headboard and all over the lamp and shade right by the bed) I called the front desk to tell them. I like to give the establishment the opportunity to make it right as this could be a one off. They called back to tell me that there were no more 1 bedrooms available to move us into, but that they had alerted the housekeeping department and they would do a thorough cleaning in our room. As we walked past the housekeepers cleaning other rooms, we noticed a disgustingly dirty mop, just sitting on the pavement outside one of the rooms, no mop bucket in sight. This meant she was using either sink or tub in the room to clean the floor. When we got back a little early, we decided to sit at the outdoor grill and give her more time. The grill had many broken and missing bricks and the top metal portion was loose and coming apart. We decided we really didn't want her to mop our floors with that mop, so we went in while she was vacuuming. She was almost finished and had not vacuumed some dirt that was in the living room. The dust was still thick as could be on the lamp shades in the dining room. Also, we had visited the beach and outdoor pool and bar earlier in the day. We asked for beach chairs and an umbrella, which they quickly brought. The chairs were very dirty, falling apart and not in good condition at all. Such a shame, because they have prime real estate, condos that are newly renovated and should not be so dirty and uncared for.
