“Beautiful, serene, perfect getaway!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 5, 2013

We visited Sanibel Inn for our first getaway without our kids. I can't say enough about the location! We stayed in a King room suite with a gulf view. The kitchenette was small but perfect for the two of us. We shopped for things we could easily warm up or prepare without cooking. The staff came every day to clean the room and provide fresh towels. The grounds were beautiful with gorgeous trees and flowers. Very quiet property, not overcrowded. The tiki bar is nice and near the pool. We ate in the restaurant twice and the food was great. This is a perfect place for a romantic getaway or for a family as well. I would love to come back to the Inn with our kids and stay the week. If you are looking for a more active night life, you can leave the island and go to nearby Ft Myers Beach! Sanibel is definitely quiet and laid back. It's a short drive to Captiva and the drive is breathtaking! I recommend renting a convertible to enjoy the views! We spent many afternoons looking for shells along the beach of Sanibel and drove to Captiva to shell there as well. The only complaint I have is that the week is over and now we are back to reality :) Staff was very friendly and overall a great place to stay!

Room Tip: If you are a couple coming for a getaway, request a king bed suite with the gulf view! The bed is co...

While this is an older property, they have made nice improvements to the rooms. Shared 2 queen sea view room for 3 nights with a friend. Roomy, had a small fridge so we could eat in for breakfast, room was clean, good storage and liked the screen in porch. Hotel is a great location if you want to drive into town - Periwinkle is the main street on the island with plenty of shopping, restaurants and bars. Liked being able to lounge by the pool, get a cocktail at the Tiki Bar or go right to the beach. We also used the bikes one afternoon. I would definitely recommend to friends & family and would not hesitate to stay at Sanible Inn again.

Just finished our 4 night stay. It was the first trip away without the kids in some time. Sanibel Inn is just what we needed. Clean rooms, easy beach access, nice pool bar to grab a sandwich, and quiet. All staff were friendly and helpful. Check in and check out was easy. We will be back next year!! Thank you for a wonderful relaxing stay.

We stayed in the King beachfront room. The room was clean, as expected. If you get a king room beware that the fridge advertised in room is a mini fridge (dorm style) and may not work so great. We went thru 3 before the maintanance man got a working one. Towels were available for the beach at poolside but get them early as they ran out 2 days. Also, beach chairs/umbrellas are set up on beach in the morning and first come .....only about 15 umbrellas with 2 chairs for the entire resort set up....not enough when busy. Lots of bikes go unused. Restarant was not busy but very good food.

Room Tip: Second floor would be better for the view.

We had a sea view room, a good size with 2 queen beds and a decent sized bathroom. All very clean and comfortable. Staff friendly, did not use the restaurant, the entrance of which is rather shabby, paint peeling on the stairway which put my husband off. We did have snacks and drinks at the pool side bar, that was okay. The bikes are very basic but manageable. Not enough sun beds on the beach for everybody so get there early. However a very pleasant stay, relaxing and convenient for restaurants and generally getting about.

A couple of years ago my daughter and I stayed here. While sitting on the beach decided that maybe this is here we want be often. We spent a day with a realtor and found a place to buy in Fort Myers where I now live. We often rent a couple of days at Sanibel Inn so we can get up in the mornings early just to walk on the beach. It's a great place to stay. We always suggest it when friends want to stay on the beach. Best part is it is easy access to the island and to the mainland. Lots of things to do and places to eat on Sanibel. But really if your are a beach person it's the best, long sandy beach, close to the lighthouse, water is wonderful. It's even great in the summer when the water is warm and wonderful. You see different sea life almost every week. So close yet feels so far away. Love it here!

My husband and I were there from May 18-24....been going for 6 years...love it there! Rooms are comfortable and clean....beach is the best! Just a nice laid back relaxing place.....heaven! Didn't use the restaurant on site..plenty of nice places in the area to eat. There are bikes to use...only draw back was if you want to go sit at the beach early there are no lounges.....they put them away every nite and bring them down the beach at 8:30am... and not enough umbrellas for everyone...a first come first serve deal....that is my only downside...otherwise very nice place..we will be back again next year!
