“Just What the Doctor Ordered”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 16, 2013

We wanted a place that was relaxing, non-fussy, had pool, and pool bar, and was on the beach. Sanibel Inn was a perfect fit for our needs. Very popular pool bar. Nice pool. And great shelling on the beach itself. The folks at the front desk were super, and the cleaning staff did a great job. The unit itself (2 BR) was among the nicest we have stayed in the last 6-7 years. Reasonably roomy, with a comfortable living room area. Very nice, large, screened in veranda/balcony. Good breakfast at the restaurant. You will like it here.

“Lovely rooms!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 16, 2013

My daughter and I stayed here in October of 2012 and had a simply wonderful time! Although the outside of the inn is dated and older looking, the rooms are stunning! I loved the tile floors, the view was wonderful and the bed so comfortable that we slept like babies. The staff was very helpful and kind. I would stay there again in a heartbeat. Good location too.

“Lovely family vacation”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 14, 2013

We've spent some days at Sanibel Inn during this winter break with my family. It was really awesome! Nice apartment, clean, beach front with great dimensions for a family of 5 as we are, with 2 rooms and 2 whole baths.
The beach is really nice, and the inn provides you with everything there. It's closed to great restaurants and shops. Definitely a very good choice!!!!!

Room Tip: Ask for rooms in the second or third floors, you'll get the best view!

“Wished we could have stayed longer.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 14, 2013

Just spent 5 days at the Sanibel Inn (pool & palm suite) and thoroughly enjoyed every day. All staff that we encountered were very friendly and professional. What a great location with the pool, pool bar and the ocean. Nicely equipped kitchenette that served our purpose for eating breakfast and lunch in. The only suggestion for improvement is a mirror in the bedroom and a more comfortable sofa. Plan to return again.

“Bad Housekeeping”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 13, 2013

The Sanibel Inn reminds me of a Hampton Inn.

Pros:
Beautiful location on the beach
Friendly staff

Cons:
Housekeeping

When I pulled back the comforter, it was obvious that the sheets hadn't been changed from the previous occupant. How? Because they were smooth on the side of the bed on which the previous visitor did not sleep, and completely rumpled and somewhat dirty on the side of the bed that was used. The bathroom had remnants of the previous occupant, and there was a lot of dust on the mirror, toilet paper holder, etc. The room was not clean. It was tidy, but not clean.

It seems that this is the way it is these days. It isn't just the Sanibel Inn that suffers from non-existent housekeeping. I deal with it by travelling with my own sheets, and a canister of disinfectant wipes.

I did not give the resort a chance to remedy this problem. However, based on how nice and accommodating they were when I checked in, there is no doubt in my mind that someone would have been immediately dispatched to address these issues. But, it had been a long day, I was tired, and did not want to deal with waiting for someone. That is why I have learned to travel with my own things.

The rooms are actually quite nice. Simple, but nice. If they got their housekeeping situation under control, for the money, this place would be amazing.
