Wonderful hotel, clean updated rooms. We stayed in the periwinkle building with a great view of the ocean, screen porch was nice to have. Short walk to beach or pool. Only negative - breakfast at the sea star cafe on site was not the best. We would stay again for sure! Be sure to pick up the island guide books in the lobby - lots of $ saving coupons for shops and restaurants.

Great hotel and a very good location. We love the screened porches with a view of the gulf and the beach is very close. The kayaks and bikes are nice perks, we will definitely be staying at the Sanibel Inn again.

We were looking for a relaxing place to get away for a few days, and we found it at Sanibel Inn! We stayed in a beachfront suite, which had a lovely ocean view. It was spacious, clean, and had everything we could need (fridge, microwave, coffeemaker, comfy bed). The resort was not at all crowded, despite the enticing Fall Escape package! The service on the beach was amazing...a gentleman put out beach chairs every morning, and he would bring out umbrellas and put them up when requested by the guests. And there was a nice beach bar near the pool, that turned out to be a great place for lunch. On Saturday night, we decided to try the hotel restaurant (Sea Star Cafe) for dinner. Every item that we tried was amazing. What a great restaurant to have right on property! We definitely enjoyed this resort and can't wait to go back!

We enjoyed our brief 3 night stay and would definitely return. Staff was always helpful; room was clean, quiet and comfortable and ours had a great view of the Gulf. We brought basic breakfast and lunch foods and the fridge and microwave were perfect for that. We used the bikes....not great but fine for cruising the island on the dedicated bike trails. We rode them to and through the nature preserve and while we did see a huge gator we found almost as much wildlife on the beach at the hotel....birds and dolphins galore. The free umbrella and chair service was really convenient. The beach is right there and its where we spent most of our time, but bring some bug spray as the no-see-ums come out at dusk on the beach and are annoying. We didn't take advantage of the pool, bar, or restaurant. Would have liked a fitness center. Would recommend Sanibel and the Sanibel Inn to anyone looking for a beautiful place to explore and hang out.

Room Tip: Second floor in beachfront buildings would provide best view.

We stayed Oct 22nd-27th, and the hotel was awesome. The room was a pool and palm room, and we still had a great view of the gulf. The room was spacious enough and had a great screened in balcony, which was nice so we could keep the slider door open and let the breeze in all night! Also, the bed in the room was pretty comfortable, not the best, but we both slept good. The hotel staff was awesome, and was very quick to get us extra pillows when we asked for them. We ate at the restaurant one evening, and the meal was very, very good. The lamb was done perfectly, and the key lime pie was also great! I can't say enough good things about this hotel, they have a great location, a great on site restaurant, and a great facility. When we visit Sanibel again, we will definitely come back here!

We had to cancel our Bahama's trip and quickly and find somewhere else for our vacation because of Hurricane Sandy. Luckily, the Sanibel Inn had vacancy on their resort. We stayed in one of their beachfront suites, which was very nice. It included a fridge and microwave along with a Keruig and everything else we needed for our stay. Very short walk to the beach, which was one of the best for finding shells. Our week was full of beautiful sunrises, cool shells and relaxation. Umbrellas and chairs were setup for us (and free). So were the bikes. Not the best bikes, but if you're just using them for sightseeing, they are fine. Pool area looked nice, but we never swam. Great beach for finding cool shells and we did see dolphins one morning. The front desk was extremely helpful and nice! I would absolutely stay there again.

Room Tip: Beachfront rooms were great and quiet in Periwinkle
