This is a late review.
Stayed at the Sanibel Inn just after New Years 2007. This was our second stay at this property in Sanibel.
The property is very nicely located on the island, with only a vegative windbreak between the Inn and the beach. You can easily see over the windbreak.
As we had 5 nights booked here in 2007, we opted for the more expensive suite (2nd floor, directly facing the ocean). For our 2006 visit, we had a 1st floor standard room with a balcony. Both rooms are very nice, with excellent views. The suite is larger, with a separate bedroom area, and small efficency kitchen.
There is a very pretty, well landscaped, sunning area with a tiki-hut for drinks and sandwhiches located around the pool. The pool is on the small side, but well heated and definately adequate for this time of year.
There are also gas grills available in a convenient location(which we used a couple of nights).
Beach chairs are provided gratis as are bikes and various pool toys.
The on site restaurant, Ellington's, is excellent , classy and pricey.- (and worth it). The bartender made us some really excellent, refreshing drinks- not fufu- just outstanding standard cocktails. They have live music (jazz) several nights throughout the week. We listen to a lot of live music, and we thought the music here was much better-than-average.
Service here is consistently very good.
The beach here is ungroomed, natural, very pretty, and usually quiet, not crowded at all.
This is a great place to kick back , relax, and enjoy some beach time!
