We just stayed on Sanibel for 7 days (first June week) and decided to rent bicycles for 2 adults and 2 kids (4 1/2 +8). Our 8-year old daughter had her own bike and we decided on a trailler bike for the younger child. Finnimore's staff was very helpful, and their rates competetive with the other places on island. They deliver and pick up bikes no charge with 3 day rentals. We arrived at their shop on Periwinkle late Monday, they delivered that night but our rental did not start until Tuesday morning. Helmets provided (req'd for kids under 12), locks as well. Price for 2 adult bikes, trailer bike and kids bike about $150 for 3 days. Picked up again Friday morning, we just left bikes locked and put keys under tires like they did when dropping off. Nobody too concerned about theft on this island. Lots of nice bike trails. Plan on riding early in the day if you visit during June-August. The Bailey Tract was a nice ride, though the trails are sandy and not easy to ride with a kid on trailer bike. Good place to see gators and birds, incl. spoon bills.
