The last few reviews (reviewers) are out of their minds. We were just at Chips the week before Xmas and the entire experience was top notch. From the service to the ambiance to most importantly, the food. We're not snobs or even foodies, but we certainly have enjoyed some very high end restaurants on our travels. Including Michelin star rated and celebrity chef outposts. Chips ranks right up there with the best of them.
Our waitress was energetic, friendly and on top of her game. From the timing of each course to refilling waters and wine, she was taking care of everything.
Since its the week before xmas, it was not crowded and a bit quiet. But the background music was the right volume to allow each table to feel like they were not being overheard by the entire place. Seating was comfortable and the surroundings were subtle yet stylish. I could have done without the mirrored walls in the back room, but that's a minor complaint and i get that they're trying to make the room look bigger
This is the most important aspect of any restaurant, no? From the appetizer through the dessert, everything was spectacular. Tthe Tuna app was delicious and the Wasabi was very obviously fresh (and incredibly spicy). The Filet was flawless, though a bit under the requested temp (med). But hey, guess what, you let your waitress know and they bring it up to the temp you want. Amazing how some people would rather anonymously complain later than just ask for something to be fixed. The Chocolate Lava cake was rich but not overly so, and a perfect finish to the meal.
This is the 2nd time we've been to Chips and both visits were everything we would expect from a high end steakhouse
