We just returned from an 11 day stay at the Sunset Beach Resort. This was our 2nd time staying with them and I would recommend it highly. The staff is excellent, helpful, friendly, clean rooms, great location, quiet area. The only thing I could suggest is for unbrellas around the pool area.
We can hardly wait for next year.!!

Sunset Beach resort is an excellent getaway on Sanibel island for people of all genders. The staff was friendly, the rooms were spacious and clean + equiped with some kitchen supplies, and the location couldn't have been better. To get to the beach, it is a leisure walk across a small parking lot and there is the gulf... very convienent for bech bums like my family. The parking lot has one downfall though, it is all sharp rocks, so be sure to wear flops while crossing. In the morning, the main building serves an array of pastries (I recommend to try the excellent cheese danishes), and has a 24 hour juice machine with fresh cold orange juice in it at all times. Also, with your room, you are allowed axcess to the complimentary bikes that are found in the parking lot. Since Sanibl is a fairly small island, it is not hard to get around on the bikes. I recommend to bike along and inside Aligator Alley, a small narrow path with marshes on both sides of you... scary... but still beautiful. Also, biking in the local Wildlife Refugee was a good time. Just wear sun protection... it is HOT on this island especially in July. There also is a pool at the hotel that happily has a alligator and mosquito net around its perimeter, a big plus if you are traveling with small children. In all, this hotel was definitely one of a kind and made Sanibel enjoyable for my family.

This is the 2nd time we stayed at this hotel. I just love it here. Nice comfy beds, fluffy towels, clean rooms, large pool, great staff, free wi-fi in the room.

My wife and I loved it here. We arrived on Monday and left on Wednesday. We decided to check out the Keys. We loved Sanibel so much we turned around after a two nights and returned to Sunset Beach. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The room had a kitchenette that was nice. Overall we would highly recommend this hotel.
