Though it is a small hotel/resort, it just doesn't get any better! Traveling for the first time with my 11 month old son, I was nervous about everything, including activities and accommodations. I called the hotel a handful of times before our trip with all sorts of questions, and everyone was always super nice and helpful.
The room was awesome! Very very clean. Lots of attention to detail. Flat screen TV, DVD player, awesome screened in balcony. Even Herman Miller Aeron Chairs at the desk and table. The staff was very helpful and friendly.
Continental breakfast was always yummy, however it is only carbs -- lots of pastries, croissants, bagels, etc. No fruit or cereal. Also, the coffee was not so great. But that would be one of my very few complaints. It helped having a toaster oven, fridge and microwave in our room, so we could bring home leftovers from dinner to have for lunch.
The pool was great, again, very clean and well kept. Same with the beach, although I was unaware of how shelly it would be. The whole island is like that though. And the beach is a bit narrow in front of the hotel. We walked every morning on the beach though, and it was perfect.
The bikes were a huge draw for us, and they are free to use as well. They even had ones with an infant/toddler seat attached so we could all bike together! The island is perfect for bikes, as it has a multi use paved bike trail that goes all over the island. So nice to not have to be fighting with cars on the road. The hotel is a short ride to both the Ding Darling Refuge, and Periwinkle Blvd where most of the stores/restaurants are.
We had a fabulous time here, even with our little one, and trying to keep his napping schedule, etc. I'm sure we'll be back at some point. I highly recommend this hotel. Especially since it is very reasonably priced.
