This was a wonderful resort and a great value. The rooms were very clean and up to date (fresh paint, flat screen TV). The best part was the friendly service. Sandy at the Front Desk was delightful and gave us great suggestions at check-in. The housekeepers were very effcient and friendly. Pool and landscaping were beautiful and well kept. Free beach chairs and umbrellas were an unexpected bonus. This resorts was one of the best I ever stayed at and we will return again.

I booked The Sunset Beach Resort based on reviews from Tripadvisor.com. We had never been to Sanibel Island before, so we did not know what to expect. The Island and the hotel was wonderful! The rooms and the pool were very clean, the staff, including housekeeping were also wonderful. We loved how close the beach was, we had plenty of towels, chairs and umbrellas were always available. We rode the bikes around the island a couple of times. We could not believe how clean and lush the island was. My two boys loved looking for shells. We ate at Island Pizza, a couple of times, it was great. We also took the Refuge Tram Tour. We loved learing about the Island. Sanibel Island is a beautiful, peaceful, and friendly place. We highly recommed this hotel and island for a vacation.

Sanibel Island is beautiful destination to begin with and staying 4 nights at the Sunset Resort made our experience even more beautiful and enjoyable!

Sunset Resort is one of the last hotels and resorts on Sanibel before the residential district so you are away from busier business distritcts.

We stayed on the second floor room with the ocean view--only two rooms are ocean front. The room was big and everything seems very new and clean. I think they must've done remodeling recently.

The bed was one of the most comfortable bed we've ever slept on while staying at hotels. It came with very comfortable and clean down comforter and pillow! It was simply heavenly sleeping on them into late morning!

The best part of Sanibel is, of course, collecting shells, shells, shells and more shells! There are so many of them, it's rather easy to loose interest too soon. If you are deligent, you will find some very nice shells to take home with.

Another very nice feature Sanibel offer is there are bike paths to just about everywhere; same is not true for Captiva Island. Sunset Resort offers free bikes to ride around the Island and we rode it everyday we were there!

What an excellent resort! We just finished a four day/three night stay at the Sanibel Sunset Beach Resort. The accommodations were clean, beautifully located, and well stocked (kitchen, bathrooms, etc.)

The pool was kept well and the beach area spotless. What a pleasure not to have to pay additional charges for lounges and umbrellas!

The staff was extremely friendly from the free continental breakfast each morning, to their recommendations of the best restuarants (they were right on too!), to their easy check-in and check out.

I would highly recommend this resort to anyone! On top of it all, it was a great value for the money! I'll be back for sure!
