“Left a lot to be desired.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed March 3, 2013

After our week in the two bedroom condo at Sanibel Siesta, we knew we would not be coming back. First let me mention the intense "musty" smell that permeated throughout the entire place no matter how much we "aired" it out. Speaking of smells, the kitchen faucet produced a stale water smell that lingered for minutes on end each time it was turned on. Lets not forget the rusty knives and silverware as well as the fact that EVERY knife was dull and useless. And last but not least, i must mention the lack of hot water in the the 2nd bath forcing all occupants to use one bathroom all week! We were sad that our vacation had to end, but with a mandatory 10am checkout, we all simply said, good riddens.

There truly is only one thing our small staff values more than our job, the guests being able to enjoy their stay with us. We advise our guests to enjoy their condo and any concerns they have to please let us know. We replace any item in any condo if we are made aware if it. We truly regret anyone not enjoying their stay with us and try to address all issues before arrivals, but we promise to take care of them after arrival. Down a couple of reviews you will see that another guest praised this same unit. Expectations vary with people but we always expect everyone to enjoy their stay.

On the beach. Cozy and comfortable 2 bedroom condo (master bedroom has a nice large bathroom with walk in closet prob big enough for a pack and play - tho they do rent cribs) w a full kitchen that has pots and pans but no basically nothing else; we were lucky to find salt nd pepper. Has a pool and a couple of gas grills that you can use. Nice large screened in balcony. Definitely worth considering for a vacation in sanibel, though I'm not sure it's the only place to consider.

We took a long snowbird weekend in February and rented based on TripAdvisor reviews. We rented unit 606 (Gulfview) and the unit was nicely decorated, well maintained and immaculate. A 2 minute walk to the beach (there is an elevator which is handy bringing up the luggage). There is a starter kit with brochures (very handy as we did not have time to get to the visitor center upon arrival) toilet tissue, soap, trash bags and paper towels. Each bathroom has a hair dryer as well. They now rent bikes from the office. This was our first time at Sanibel and the office staff could not have been more helpful, friendly and welcoming. The location was perfect for us-close to the causeway and Periwinkle, quiet at night. When we return to Sanibel we wont rent anywhere else-this was a perfect stay. All you have to do when you leave is take out the trash. Unit 606 gets afternoon sun on the patio-if you want morning sun, rent the building facing opposite. Thanks you Sanibel Siesta staff-customer service does matter!

Room Tip: If you cannot afford the gulfview, it really is not too far a walk from the back building to the bea...

Of course you can't beat Sanibel Island, but what a find this condo was. We were pointed to it by our realtor, wow. Cute rooms for the kids, big master for us, nice view, quiet, warm pool...the garage is stocked with beach chairs, sand toys, cold drink equipment. Everyone seems friendly and happy. I was surprised to find such a comfortable place at such reasonable rates. Stuff to cook with, very handy. Right on the beach. I hope I can upload the pictures I took. Will be back. King bed was a little stiff, I'm trying hard to think of a downside so that's about it.

Room Tip: I didn't see the other condos. I don't know what is average for here. This place was cute...

We were shocked at how nice unit 108 was--fully renovated, super clean, fresh, comfortable. The complex is nice, staff friendly, quick access to the beach, good location on the island. We will be back--this was one of the best rentals we have ever stayed in on any vacation, anywhere!

It's a great place, not perfect, but what is? Beautiful condo a little small, but lanai is BIG!, super pool, great location, near everything, a view of the gulf, we heard the waves at night. Unfortunately, we also heard a lot of landscapers' noise, under our lanai for what seemed like hours with the leafblowers and then the next day Holiday Inn had their guys. Totally unpredictably, the condo across the way was having a total renovation. Saws going non-stop, and two nights someone downstairs was smoking a cigar, which filled our place of course. Once we complained though, it stopped right away. Linen exchange not a problem. I would recommend one nearer to the beach to avoid landscape noise, and also have a garage, (which we didn't) for beach equipment and bikes. (free bikes to use would be a nice perk)

Room Tip: Choose closer to the beach to avoid landscaper noise.

Our family has been spending the Thanksgiving holiday season at the Siesta for 18 years, and each year is like coming home to our adoptive family. The condos are immaculate, the pool is always warm & inviting, the beach, WOW. Can't say enought good things about Sanible Siesta. The whole staff is there to welcome us and make us feel so much at home. Our family loves, loves, loves Sanibel Siesta. Would never think of going anywhere else.

Room Tip: We always stay in the beach front units. Love looking out at the water and watching the dolphins sw...
