“Sanibel Siesta was great!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 29, 2008

Hello . I loved Sanibel Siesta! The view was glorious and the whole vacation was just phenomenal! The condo was just the right size and I liked the layout, too. We were in room 207 on the 3rd floor and it was cool because you could see the tennis courts and the Holiday Inn pool was right behind us so it was fun. There were five of us so it was a good fit. I would definetly come there again!

I am rating the Sanibel Siesta above average because of two things: location and service. Aside from those criteria, I'd rate it average & overpriced. Plusses: the staff is wonderful! I wanted last-minute reservations and was courteously accommodated with a 3-night stay. Every time I contacted them about little things: hairdryer, beach chairs, umbrella, etc., they couldn't have been nicer. They were just as nice in person when we checked in! The complex has a wonderful beach. Even though we were in building 2, at the rear of the complex, it was very quiet, we were able to see the ocean from our unit, and it was a short walk to the beach. The pool was great and was never crowded the times we were there. The complex is also close to shopping, to Ding Darling, other Sanibel beaches, and maybe 1/2 hour from Captiva. Our unit was a bit dated, but clean. The kitchen was pretty well stocked and there was plenty of room for us two adults & two children. Beds were comfortable as was the furniture. The minusses: oh how I wish they had better towels!! For $300 a night it would have been nice to have bigger, softer towels, rather than the threadbare "typical" motel towels. There was a huge closet off the master bedroom, whose space might have been better utilized for a bigger toilet/tub area. Beach chairs & umbrellas are stored in common closets; the ones we found were in pretty bad shape -- all of them were rusty and a few were falling apart. In summary, Sanibel Siesta was nice, clean and safe, has a great location, but could use some sprucing up.

  • Liked — Location and staff/front desk. Also having wireless Internet!
  • Disliked — Thin, tiny bath towels. They need to replace beach chairs more frequently.

We stayed in a 2bed 2bath condo over Christmas. The condo was well sized and although the furniture and decor was a little tired, it was confortable enough. There are large balconies and ours got the sun in the afternoon (buildings 6, 7 and 8).
the pool is a good size and very warm. the only problem was that it could at times be noisy - the buildings face eachother and the sounds of kids playing/shouting around the pool carried.

We stayed at Sanibel Siesta during the week of the fourth of July and had a great time. We (2 adults, 2 kids) rented the 2 br condo with 2 full baths. The extra bath was definitely a plus. Although the buildings are older, they were very well kept. The condo was very clean and the kitchen was stocked with everything you need except food. The patio's were screened which allowed you to keep the bugs out. We did not "see" one bug in our room during our stay. However, there are almost invisible insects called "no c-ums" that bite like a mosquito. Everyone except our son were eaten up by them. Make sure that you have insect repellant! We were bitten when we were outside of the room, but the itching remains a while. Makes you feel as though there's something biting you in the room. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay. Note: each time to leave the island to shop, dine, etc., you will be required to pay $6 to return. There are a plenty of restaurants on the island, but they're a little more expensive. Nearby Ft. Myers offers options though.

We rented a 2 bedroom condo. The condo was very spacious for two couples.

We were there off season so it was fantastic. The pool was very accessible and kept very clean.

We paid for additional cleaning service that was well worth it.

The only bad part was the red tide. It had come to shore when we first arrived and the smell was awful!!! But we did drive up the coast to Bowman's beach to spend our beach days. That put a damper on the trip but we made the best of it.

Great place to stay - overlooks the pool which is perfect if you have kids! A few steps to beach.

The condo is very clean, wireless internet, cable tv, dvd player, games and puzzles, cards,

Two bedrooms (1 queen, 2 twin beds), huge couch with pullout bed, dining area, TWO patio's, and two full bathrooms (great to have two seperate showers!) kitchen fully stocked - we cooked a few dinners while we were here, but the restaurants on the island are also amazing.

Definitely will be back to condo 301!

  • Liked — Clean, Roomy and great value for the money!
  • Disliked — No business center, but they have wireless internet in each room.

We really enjoyed our stay at Sanibel Siesta. Having 2 boys (4 1/2 and 2 1/2) can be difficult in a small hotel room or condo, but the condo was clean and very spacious. The screened in porches were a pleasure as the kids could play out there and we did not have to worry.

The pool was also very kid friendly as their were lots of other kids and plenty of toys to go around.

Beach chairs that came with unit were broken, but that was not really an issue as the sand was quite soft. Great shelling as well. Dolphins just off of the beach every day.

We hope to go back again this year.
