We booked the Sundial a week before our trip. I knew going in that it was a 3 star resort. That being said, I didnt expect much. We stayed in unit J-103, a one bdr condo with a gulf view. I specifically asked that it be near the main pool. The location of our unit was perfect. We could walk out of our lanai and be at the main pool in a few short steps. The staff that organized the childrens activities were great. Our kids ages 8 and 6 had a blast, they did arts and crafts, games, scavenger hunts..The restaurant by the pool was very good, we had lunch their every day. The beach was right there so we could go back and forth to the beach and pool. The condo was decorated very pretty, however there was an ant problem in the kitchen and on the lanai, which didnt bother me since I live in South Florida and struggle with ants in; my own home. The unit doesnt provide you with any paper products so bring your own and the towels at the pool/beach are so small and a poor quality so bring your own from home. Overall, I would go back, I thought the hotel was nice and layed back and i love the proximity to all the restaurants..We had great meals at Island Cow, Matsalunas and Bubble Room on Captiva.

I recently stayed in Unit F208. After reading bad reviews I was actually thinking of cancelling but luckily I did not. The room ended up being clean, nicely decorated, well attended by cleaning staff (they actually load the dishes in the dishwasher and run it everyday) and quiet. We had access to all pools and beach chairs and yes...the hotel staff was friendly & helpful. I booked the reservation directly through them and I had no problems at all. Would have loved to stay longer. I will go back!

I came down from New York to get away from it all. Sundial was perfect! I rented a single suite directly from an owner on his website. I'm thinking about it again and noticed some of the not-so-good reviews and decided to share my experience.

The bed was comfortable, people were friendly. I felt very safe and the room and lanai were comfortable, nicely furnished, pleasant, clean, and the view was terrific. Spent most of my time on the beach shelling and walking, in the pool and biking around the island with a bike I rented. Also just relaxed on the lanai with a good book and a glass of wine and enjoyed the viewI I would highly recommend Sundial as a place to vacation and the rate I received from the owner was very reasonable.
