We stayed at the Song of the Sea two weeks ago and was very pleased with the hotel. We stayed in a poolside view room on the second floor and I found the room to be very comfortable. It was very clean, the bed was comfortable and was fully furnished with dishes, etc. The breakfast was good, I thought it to be alittle more than a continental breakfast and it was nice sitting outside in the garden area.
The pool was small but clean, never had a problem getting a chair and also at the beach there was never a problem getting a lounge chair and umbrella.
We went next door to the Sanibel Inn for dinner at Ellingtons celebrating our wedding anniversary and it was excellent. The food was very good and the atmosphere was nice. We also hung out some at the pool bar which made some good drinks.
I was very surprised with all the shopping on the Island, alot of nice stores and also alot of good restaurants. We enjoyed eating at Island Cow and Cheeburger Cheeburger.
The only downfall was that I got attacked by no seeums and I have finally stopped itching. My husband didn't get bitten at all. I have done alot of traveling through the Carribean and this is the first time this has happened, but it did rain alot so maybe that is why it was so bad, but that wasn't any fault of the hotel.
Overall I was very pleased with The Song of the Sea.
