Walking along the main street of Sanford has now become de riguer for Central Floridians more accustomed to strolling along Park Avenue in Winter Park. A plethora of small shops, eateries large and small, inexpensive and costly are features of a brick-laden thoroughfare. Plans are in discussion of extending the walk along the shores of Lake Monroe.
Perhaps the overall theme of Sanford's downtown is easy-going, friendly, and good value. Yes, it's a bit countrified, and that's part of the charm.
