“Great spot to relax and enjoy!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 7, 2014

This was our fourth or fifth trip to the resort and each time it just gets better! We love how we don't need to worry about the kids on the property being a gated community. Our room was fantastic, service impeccable and all the staff friendly, professional and courteous. It started off with a warm greeting by Dan Haddox - Guest Services Manager. He took the time to understand our needs, our budget and accommodation requirements with the kids and armed with this information came up with suggestions to improve on our package that everyone was extremely happy with! Despite how busy the resort got with New Year's Dan followed up to make certain that everything was to our liking!

Room Tip: Higher up provides commanding views whether you are overlooking the water, resort (Baytowne), ponds...

We stayed at the Sandestin resort in a two bedroom condo for three days between Christmas and New Year's Day. The condo overlooked the lake and had two upstairs bedrooms each with their own bathroom and a washer and dryer. Downstairs had a dining room, living room, kitchen and half bathroom. It was a nice one mile walk to the beach. The shops and restaurants had a great New Year's Eve party that was a lot of fun. There was an unexpected $147 resort fee that was broken up into one $75 housekeeping fee, $19 per day resort fee, and city and county taxes. Overall we enjoyed our stay and had a great trip.

We wanted a two bedroom (two master suites) condo type place for the week and that's exactly what we got. Under cover parking, easy walk to the beach, great views from all the windows. There is no room service unless you request it, so it's all as you leave it when you return at the end of a day out and about. Personally, I like this. We will stay here again.

As a platinum member in most every major chain I have to travel for my job and all comments are based on other similar products/services. Also I have family that owns a business in Baytowne Village

We checked in on Christmas Eve and based on the event calendar on the resort website and e-mails(from early Nov) to the resort we expected some of the resort to be open otherwise we would not have worked so hard to get there on Christmas Eve. Check this carefully before you book to stay for ANY holiday. We ended up staying in our room until we could locate a restaurant that was open.

The Fitness center was closed on Christmas and so I went the next day. The center has decent cardio. Cannot use the Nautilus as I was approached several times and suggested I leave for being to noisy (I have been a member of gyms for 20+ years) and have never been told that. Turns out the spa is directly below the weight room (bad layout).

Our room (Beachside 2 #4311) was very nice and except for a slight problem with the phone was an exceptional value.

Tennis center (closed on Christmas) personnel were outstanding and went above and beyond to accommodate our requests. Courts are decent and lessons were a value.

Resort grounds are beautiful and well maintained.

Checked out early in the AM and saw that I had been charged wrong rate for 1 day- still trying to get it resolved.

All in All a nice resort but lacking in website information and customer communication. if you are trying to maximize your time I would call ( we tried several times before we left) and speak with the concierge'.

Room Tip: Most all the restaurants and activities are on bayside (north of 98)

We stayed at the Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort December 21 - 24, 2013. When we checked in, we were given a room with two beds (upon our request). The beds, however, were "full-size" beds, not Queen-size beds, which we didn't find out until we entered the room! I didn't even know they still made full-size beds. Regardless, we stayed in this room for the first night, and transferred to an "efficiency" the last two nights (at a slightly higher cost), which had a queen-size bed along with a sleeper sofa. The last two nights were much more comfortable than the first night! The rooms were comfortable and the views of the bay were beautiful. We played tennis on Sunday morning in the "Mixed Doubles Round Robin." The courts are clay and the staff is wonderful! Overall, this resort is beautiful, the tennis is awesome (especially if you like playing on clay), the staff is excellent, and the views are wonderful! In fact, we are already looking into a new reservation at this resort for spring.

Room Tip: Make sure to confirm the type of bed you are getting as they did not volunteer this information at c...

Florida’s Emerald Coast is a great alternative to Miami Beach, Daytona, and other tourist- oriented areas. Destin is one of the popular destinations on the Emerald Coast and one of the better resorts in Destin is the Sandestin Golf and Beach resort.

What makes Sandestin standout among resorts in the area? The reasons are many, starting with the sheer size of the resort. It covers nearly 4 square miles and has approximately 1,200 total rooms, divided among condos, villas, and standard rooms. It has multiple restaurants, pools, golf course, bicycle rental, Gulf coast views, and just about every other amenity you can imagine.

But Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort is much more than just a resort of immense physical size. It is clean, well- maintained, and comfortable. One quality I really like about Sandestin is that while it is obviously a classy, desirable place to stay, it maintains a non- pretentious personality. In other words, it is elegant, but not so much so that you fear touching things or breaking something. It has everything you need to enjoy your vacation without the aura of stuffiness or arrogance common to some of the more upscale resorts.

Great service, comfortable rooms, attractive surroundings, powdery sand beaches, clean and presentable facilities- everything seems right at the Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort. My youngest summed it up well when she said “I just want to take some time to soak up all this beauty.” I know exactly what she means.

Room Tip: Gulf views are best, so try to get a room facing the Gulf on the fifth floor or higher.

We just had an awesome stay at Sandestin. We stayed in The Grand building and had a great view of the bay. Condo was terrific. Shops and restaurants at Baytown were perfect. Just walk to Baytown and you have a great selection of places to eat. Every place we ate was great. Friendly people, great service!

The staff at The Grand were professional and friendly. You could tell they really took pride in their job and wanted us to have a good time while staying there.

We ate our Thanksgiving meal at the Elephant Walk. It was very good and having a view of the gulf while we ate was a bonus.

We will be back and I highly recommend Sandestin Resort. You will be pleased!!!
