I stayed at this hotel when I visited St. Petersburg to watch baseball games. The name of the hotel is deceiving because the hotel is actually about 3 miles away from the Field, about a $10 cab ride, but I knew that when I made the reservation. My friend and I arrived at the hotel at around 11am. We were allowed to check-in early and given a room on the 3rd floor. The carpet in our room had just been cleaned and was damp. The bathroom door was closed and the light was on. We knocked and a woman sarcastically screamed "what?" I called the front desk, told them the situation, and were told we would be moved. While I was on the phone the Housekeeping Supervisor came out of the bathroom. She hadn't been cleaning it. We could overlook the damp carpet because we were there early, but not the woman using our toilet. Despite our initial problems, our stay was enjoyable. The front desk staff was very friendly and called cabs for us whenever we asked. The bathroom was spacious and clean. The pool was nice and the continental breakfast was satisfying. I would stay there again.

I recently stayed at this hotel and was very impressed with the room, helpful staff.housekeeping does excellent job. rooms are neat and very clean. Rooms are preety good without any renovations, cant imagine how good its goona be after renovation.
breakfast is nice compare to other hotels near by,I dont know why people complain about this hotel.if u look at all the reviews 95% people are happy with the hotel. People with small complains try to find a hotel like this for the value.you wont find it anywhere.
everybody has their opinion i love the place.i will stay here again and again.

Clean but 1) vending machines not working, 2) a suite but "living room" is a bare floor with very cheap furniture. 3) not walking distance to the ball park, 4) two window units but one was way too noisy to use (other one was sufficient) 4) long narrow layout like a tunnel made for poor light. I suppose the price is alright but there are signs of aging. Not a festive feel if you are on vacation.

We stayed at the Comfort-Tropicana in St. Petersburg because of the positive reviews in Trip Advisor and the place lived up to those reviews. The Tampa Bay area lodging prices in March and April are usually sky high, but this motel was relatively reasonable and provided a clean, pleasant environment with an excellent staff. The breakfast buffet was good and included waffles. Local newpapers and USA Today were provided free and the pool area was large and inviting. The motel is easy access to downtown St. Petersburg, but it is a few miles to Tropicana Field, so those attending a baseball game should not expect to walk there.
This place is not perfect, butwe highly recommend it to anyone who is staying in the southern part of Pinellas county.
