BellaBrava is on St Pete's "Rivera" ...gorgeous and sophisticated Beach Drive on Tampa Bay.
The restaurant has a definite continental flair. It's sophisticated, but lively and casual at the same time. There's plenty of seating inside or in the sidewalk dining area. The outside dining is reminiscent of Switzerland's lakefront cities or of Italy and France. Even though the restaurant is lively, it doesn't seem noisy.
The waitstaff is very professional. They seem to enjoy their job and provide prompt and attentive service. They know the menu and wine list and seem eager to help.
The food was ok ...not great.
We started with Bella Bruschetta. It was pretty standard bruschetta, but with some goat cheese and mushrooms. It was good, but nothing out of the ordinary.
I ordered Chicken Giardino ...grilled chicken breast covered with finely diced tomatoes. The chicken was a bit chewy ...slightly undercooked. My Wife tried Pasta Brava and enjoyed it. On the server's recommendation, we ordered a bottle of Riello Delle Blaze Chianti. Inexpensive and delightful.
All in all, somewhat of a mixed bag. The ambience and service unbeatable, the food a little better than average. We'll likely go back.
