Finding a hotel/Motel in St. Petersburg is a challenge. Prices are more than unfair!! Paid 100 bucks for 1 night, room was close to the pool, had some party people there, couldnt sleep until they were gone.
Staff is friendly, helpfull. However breakfast was a disaster, coffee was empty, waffle machine broken, juice machine broken.... we went to dunkin donuts!

The hotel bathroom was about as clean as you could get a 60 year old bathroom. the room was clean, the staff was friendly. but the real shocker was that the room behind us had a Male dressed as female prostirute working out of it. and the hired staff confirmed my suspicsion of this activity. I did not feel unsafe but i would think they would not allow this type of activity

This hotel has a friendly owner and is really clean. It is showing it's age (a few broken tiles in the bathroom) but it is excellent value for a place to crash at night. I saw quite a few people swimming and enjoying the pool area. There was no evidence of the trouble that was mentioned in some of the other reviews. The air conditioner is fairly noisy but I can sleep through a lot so it didn't bother me.

We were scared to go here because of the the prior reviews, but price (and Hotwire.com) dictated we at least try it. It turned out fine. Not luxury, as implied by the price. We had a king bed for 2 adults and a child under 2 for one night = $68. Comfortable bed, clean room/bathrm, working appliances (including frig and microwave), decent amount of floor space. It is an older building with some quirks, but it has been made over with some nice touches. We arrived in the afternoon; the front desk let us check in an hour early and gave us a ground floor room close to the pool. We were content; the location worked out great. we were 30 minutes from Indian Rock Beach, where we had a fabulous dinner at Keegan's Seafood Grill, and about 35 minutes from the Lowry Park Zoo where we had an entertaining day with our little girl. For food options, there was a Salem's with gyros, wings, and subs right across the driveway, and a Dunkin' Donuts 2 doors down. Unfamiliar with St. Pete like we were? 34th N turned out to be a main area providing various lodging, food, and new car options to everyone. Several diners, bbq places and chain establishments. Noticed Comfort and Hampton Inns along the route. We also discovered that there is a large Calvary Chapel Church established in St. Pete's; exciting info for us who like to go. :)
Overall, we thought this Budget Inn was exactly that - a good place when you are on a budget. Rates were reasonable, room and grounds clean, and staff friendly.
