“Will be back very soon!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2014

Was hesitating to go due to lack of quality and authentic Indian cuisine. This was by far some of the best Indian food I've ever had! Will be back ASAP!

“Very good Indian food, wonderful service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2014

Delicious Indian food at affordable prices. Ambiance is quite lovely. My husband and I both had lamb dishes. Vindaloo and saag. Very tasty. We wanted to try a goat dish, but our waiter explained that the chef was not happy with the goat. Lucky for us, because the lamb dishes were great. We also ordered a samosa appetizer and garlic naan. Needless to say, it was quite a feast and we brought home what we couldn't finish. Looking forward to going back and trying other dishes.

“Very pleasant, delicious lunch ...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2014

Gateway to India opened recently on Bay Pines Blvd. A friend and I really enjoyed their buffet. There were 3 selections of rice, also fresh tomatoes and lettuce available for a side salad, 3 chicken dishes, one potato dish, another like an eggplant ratatouille (of course, Indian, not French), and a spinach dish, along with dessert. All the dishes we tasted were flavorful and not overly spiced. Dessert was a bit disappointing ... a whipped cream mango pudding that was a bit too sweet and sugary ... but perhaps that's the way it is supposed to be.

The tables and booths are nicely set, and the décor comfortable. Service was just fine. Although a buffet doesn't normally entail "service", I want to note that although the restaurant was supposed to open at 11:30, the door was opened at 11:20 because of a terrific rain downpour, so we could come in and be comfortable. Definitely recommend for lunch.

“Delightful!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 19, 2014

Excellent experience. The food is the best Indian food I have ever had. We made reservations for a Saturday night an glad we did because the place was packed. There were 4 of us and we tried several different things on the menu. I had the Shrimp Madras, big shrimp in a creamy sauce of spices and coconut. Other dishes we tried were the Chicken Tika, more of a tomato/curry sauce, also delicious, a lamb dish, and one of the vegetarian dishes. All perfectly prepared. The Naan bread was great too. Service was efficient and friendly. Atmosphere is pleasant. Can't wait to go back!

“THE best Indian food in the area!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2014 via mobile

I've been eating Indian food in the Bay Area for a little over a decade and while there are many great options (Tampa, downtown St. Pete, Pinellas Park, etc.) this is the best! I typically go to lunch buffets to try out the menus so I know what to get for dinner. Gateway's buffet was $12.99 and had plenty of great options. My favorites last time were the chicken tikka masala, veggie pakora yogurt curry, and the chicken malai kabab all of which were incredible! They also bring you a basket of Naan for the table instead of it being on the buffet, a nice touch. Decor is nice, would make for nice romantic evening. Honestly can't think of anything negative to say...Highly recommend this place to anyone in the area. Enjoy!
