I had the typical hotel expectations going in, so I was a little surprised at first. It has more of a B&B feel to it. I usually lock myself away in my hotel room, finding no reason to hang out in the lobby but that did not happen here. The friendly, easy-going owners/operators create a nice, relaxing atmosphere, and you don't feel like they've practiced their lines and facial expressions in a mirror. You know that fake "have a nice day" and grin you get from the chain hotels? The continental breakfast was more than adequate, and I think there was a free drink given at night but we didn't partake.
I would choose to stay there again even if on a business trip, where my Per Diem would pay for a room in one of big chain hotels. Steph and Brian prove that bigger is not always better. They also live at the hotel, so they know the local area very well.

We stayed here one night my husband and I. We arrived around 8:00 pm and were welcomed by Brian the owner, very nice and always smiling and looking happy.
The place looks like more a family house than a hotel, if you like small places its for you.
It is a charming place but doesn't worth $149 ( Saturday night,).
It is clean and quiet, even if it is located along a main street, you can park free. The room was kitch, but looks more authentic than the Marriott across the street. You can walk to the marina and to main restaurants (5mn). You have to take the car to go to the Dali Museum.

This small hotel (probably built in the 1930s and like a Bed & Breakfast-type place) turned out to be an excellent choice for seeing the sights of old downtown St. Petersburg. There was a trolley stop right across the street--only 25 cents each trip. Trolley stopped at several museums and the Pier. We stayed a total of 6 nights and the hotel managers, Brian & Stephanie, provided friendly advice on places to visit and loaned us lawn chairs to see an outdoor musical one evening. It was fun to visit with them and the other guests during breakfast and also happy hour each evening (a complimentary glass of wine or bottle of beer) before heading out for an activity.

My wife and I came to St, Pete for a wedding and checked this place out on the internet. We also have neighbors who have family members that own a business in St. Pete and the told us a lot of good thing about this place.
The couple who run the hotel, Brian and Stephanie, were very friendly.
The hotel is very close to the pier and other attractions.
We would definitely stay here again.
