Okay, so I wasn't expecting much. I've stayed in some cheap motels that were a little run down, maybe a little shady, but this was downright frightening.

Its my fault for booking late, but there were few rooms available for the Tampa Bay Blues Fest. I saw this and thought "how bad could it be"? For the price, I knew that it was going to be interesting.

Well...as soon as we pulled into the parking lot, someone tried to buy drugs off my husband and I. In the first room we were in, the electricity just went on and off intermittently. Outside the paper thin walls, we could here some girl going on and on about "smokin' da weeeed" while she watched her 10 screaming kids in the filthy pool.

The kicker was when our very friendly neighbors offered to sell us some crack. In the room adjacent, a hooker was already working at 3pm. How industrious!

We were moved to another, slightly quieter, but equally filthy room. Luckily we were only staying one night. But what a scary night it was. There were drug dealers everywhere when we arrived back from the festival. Even the cab driver was shocked that we were staying in "the ghetto".

I never complain, but I would hate to think that someone on vacation or, god forbid, someone with children might mistakenly book a room here.

Seriously, I can't believe that we were not killed or at the very least, or car broken into.

You would be safer sleeping in your car.

This Knights Inn is under new management and ownership, but at the same time, it is absolutely a horrible motel! There is a Sports Bar immediately beside it and they play every night until 2:00am. The low beats in the music almost shake the ground as well as reverberating throught the rooms. There was one towel and one washclothe in our room and I called for more. Finally, at 11:30, my husband went to the front office to get some. We never recieved any hand towels. The hotel is quite old and the rooms show this. Nothing
has been updated. We stayed one night and checked out the next morning. This process took at least an hour for the manager to figure out how to add the next night's credit to our card. We're still awaiting our card statment to see what in the world shows up. How can this be so hard to do? Also, they have no internet service. One office worker told us the router was "just down there at that window, but I can't figure out how to get it to the rooms". DO NOT STAY HERE! You'll regret it as much as we do. Dakota Kenney

My son's football team traveled to St. Petersburg for a football tournament at Thanksgiving, and I accompanied him. I was appalled at the condition of the premises and the lack of concern and attitude of the management. My room, a smoking room, had no ash trays, had no remote control for the television, had a dank smell to it, and 2/3 of the lights in the room didn't work. The bathroom looked and smelled like it hadn't been thoroughly cleaned in weeks. And there was some kind of mechanical hum coming through the walls that kept me awake half the night. I called down to the front desk, and, after 3 tries over 40 minutes, finally got someone. I was told that the manager was "off the premises" and would not return until the next day. Though located in not the best area of St. Pete, they have no on-site security for residents, and it seemed that vagrants continually roamed through the area. And now management claims that my son's team damaged property and are demanding reimbursement. Fat chance. Never happened. They just want us to pay to help them refurbish a run down hotel.

Stay there at your own risk. OR be smart. Stay somewhere else.

Not only did I find a used condom in my room, but I also had to change rooms twice because the non-smoking room had an incredible strong cigarette smell. There was an iron missing in my room that was never replaced. I requested a TV remote control twice before I got one that would work. My bathtub got clogged, so I had water until my shin when I was taking a shower, and it took two days to be fixed. Manager was extremely rude and not willing to work with problems. One more thing, it was very suspicious and bad neighborhood, a lot people using the rooms for prostitution. If you have to go there, please pay cash because they will charge you the wrong amount in the credit card and they will no refund you back. It was a horrible stay and I don’t wish that even for my worst enemy.

My family and I saw a coupon for this hotel. It was late and we were tired. I really don't stay at a HOJO from a previous bad experience in Orlando. We arrived after 9pm. The front desk clerk was helpful and even offered several options for a late meal. Our room was nice. It was recently painted and has new furniture. The thing I really noticed was quiet. We had a good nights sleep (finally) and then had a quick bite in the morning at their breakfast room which far exceeded my expectations with all they offered. The whole deal for five of us was under $90.00. I would refer this hotel to anybody that wants to be near the beach and not pay beach rates.
