Very friendly staff goes that does anything possible to make your stay enjoyable. Make sure and take advantage of the on site dining great food at reasonable prices. Rooms very clean. Close to pier, Sat. Farmers market.

Got a great price on a one night stay via Groupon and reserved for the Saturday night of the Boat Show. This is a period hotel from the 20's with updated, often modern, amenities. Very friendly and cooperative front desk staff in Jane, who is a whirling dervish, who does not make enough money for all that she does. The Chef, Carl, I think, was great. We sat on the porch with our complimentary bottle of wine and talked with a few other couples as the day moved to evening. Not much noise for downtown. Happy hour came with popcorn and other high carb fare and more wine. Carl talked us into the hotel's dinner special instead of going out on the town to eat. For $59 we each got soup (a very good butternut squash), split a large shrimp cocktail, I had steak (not a great cut but edible) and lobster (a whole lobster) with red potatoes while my wife had a stuffed chicken breast and asparagus, and for desert we split a massive chunk of apple pie with french vanilla ice cream melting on top. More glasses of wine and conversation with others followed. I made sure I tipped the chef very well, and we climbed the stairs (no elevator) to our room on the 3rd floor rear of the hotel. We had absolutely no noise of any kind to disturb us and a period room that was small but comfortable. The claw foot tub was a reminder of days gone by but got us clean. We woke up early, passed on the carb laden breakfast buffet and as Carl was not ready to serve a regular breakfast before we needed to leave, we missed the opportunity for another well prepared meal. Imagine our surprise when our bill, with the Groupon for the room, too many glasses of wine, apple pie, parking, tax, etc. came to less than $80 (with the Groupon we still spent less than $160 total). We will be back next year for the Boat Show and will definitely stay at the Pier Hotel.

My wife and her cousin went to St. Petesburg to compete in a half-marathon. Since the rates were extremely competitive compared with hotel chains (i.e. Hilton, etc) and it was close to the pier, where the half-marathon took place, we decided to give it a chance. Even though the facade is antique and the rooms are small the customer services makes up for it and more. Really recommend the place!

I was very pleased with our stay in the boutique hotel in the center of St. Petersburg! We stayed two nights and have no complaints. All the employees were helpful and accommodating. It was warm and welcoming in the lobby and on the front porch. We enjoyed the Happy Hour with popcorn/nuts/beer/wine each evening and we enjoyed a lovely dinner of Salmon, asparagus, and red potatoes ($15) and breakfast of eggs, potatoes and bacon ($5). Both were very good. The beds and pillows were comfortable, the rooms clean with mini refrigerators and a microwave. The bathroom size was fine! No one should expect a large, modern bathroom when staying in a historic, boutique hotel originally build in 1921. It would have been helpful to have a shelf for accessories but otherwise it was just fine. I don't think I would bring young kids to the hotel, but it was wonderful for a girls trip to St. Pete! We are already talking about a repeat trip. It was within 2 miles of the Dali museum, the Trop, and walking distance to Baywalk area.
