I absolutely loved this place. The hotel was so beautiful. We stayed in the Deluxe waterfront suite. My husband surprised me with a romantic getaway for our first anniversary. The staff went above & beyond to make our stay memorable. The room was designed so beautifully and made us feel right at home. The decor of the hallways & bar area was delightful. My husband surpised me by bringing the top tier of our wedding cake to the hotel and desk clerk kept it for him all weekend and while we were at dinner, she snuck it to the room with our wedding cake topped on it. She made everything look so lovely for our return from the Columbia restaurant (also recommended). Everything you can imagine is within walking distance of the hotel. Creative shops, great dining, the movies, the beach, the Pier...it's all within a nice breezy walk. Anyone who doesn't enjoy a stay at this place, just doesn't want to have a good time. We could not have asked for a nicer stay or nicer people. Everyone was so friendly and accomodating to our needs. I only wish we could have stayed longer, but those 2 days at the Grayl's were so memorable. I'm so happy my husband found this wonderful place that we will be sure to revisit. Thank you so much Grayl's for a weekend we'll never forget

I was very disappointed, I have stayed here many times before and it was wonderful! I had a roach in my kitchen on the second day which was basically ignored as they said as long as it was dead it was ok. Not okay with me. Also there was lots of construction going on, no problem except that my view of the water was blocked by the installation of new gates on the only day I had to enjoy being in the courtyard of the hotel. Also the repair men placed their equipment and trash right outside my door. When I complained the owner said thats progress and asked me what was my problem. When I protested saying I was paying for the room, he told me that was b.s. if I didn't like it I could leave, then he started swearing at me and told his employees to get me out of there as fast as possible. So... I had to check out in the middle of my stay. Sadly, I will never be able to stay at this place again

We are SO thrilled we found this hotel. The room rate was similar to "chain" hotels, but staying at Grayl's made our short visit like a romantic little getaway. Everyone involved with Grayl's from the owner to the receptionist bent over backward to make sure we were comfortable and happy. The room was fabulous with a little kitchen with a fridge and microwave, a dinette, beautiful bathroom and a beautiful room with king bed and vanity, plus a comfortable chair. The main floor has two very intimate, cozy bars and soon, (beginning July I think) they will also have a type of bistro/lunch option (soup/salad/sandwich). It is within a few blocks of The Pier and BayWalk and just a short taxi ride to Tropicana Stadium. This would be a great place for a group to book the entire place and have a special "retreat". Our only regret is that we only had one evening to stay in this charming little place.

We were in the process of relacating to the Tampa area and stayed at Grayl's during the long weekend. We fell in love with the area! This hotel is located in a perfect location in downtown St. Petersburg within walking distance to everything that you might want. It's almost next door to the Venoy and the pier. The staff there are awesome! We were actually upgraded to a suite since they were not that crowded. Check out the English Pub next door!

They are in the middle of a renovation now, and will have a really nice prohibition-era club done soon. Can't wait to check it out.
