“What a disappointment!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2012 via mobile

This place charges enough that it should be able to maintain the stations! Puzzle pieces missing. Most of the stations were missing things or just flat out broken. They need to step up and fix this place to make it worth it for kids and their parents. It is just not worth the money. I wish I had turned around and asked for my money back.

“Nice Children's Museum”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 26, 2012

My son has practically grown up at Great Ex. He's been entranced with this museum since he was a toddler and enjoys it even now at age 8. On our recent visit, we went through the touch tunnel which had a bit of a line, but was still fun. He loves the "real" tree houses, vet's office, and mini supermarket. Making pizza is always a hit too.

“Explore, Learn and Use Your Imagination Here!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 8, 2012

Great indoor/air conditioned place to take the children to. We all had a lot of fun.. not just the kids, but us big kids too. The kids explore, learn, pretend and use their imagination here. There are areas for certain things.. like pretend to be a fireman, equipped with little truck, pole to slide down and uniform to put on. There are other areas, like the vet area, the pizza area, Bay News 9 area, Publix and so on. All in all... we had a great time and better yet, we used Groupon to get half off the entrance fee.

“Great for younger kids”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 28, 2012

This is a great museum for elementary-aged kids and younger on a rainy afternoon. It's small enough to let your kids roam freely, big enough to keep them entertained for a while. The exhibits are interesting, even for us big kids!

“Fun place to get out. Great rainy day stop off!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 20, 2012

As a local in the Tampa Bay area, Im always looking for fun places to take my toddler on rainy days when we are feeling like we need to get out. Great Explorations is a perfect stop for us. We stay several hours and play & get all our energy out! With exhibits such as: Fire Truck/Station & Fire Safety, Healthy & Body Fitness, Construction, The Orange Grove, Pet Clinic, Grocery Store, Restaurant Booth, and other tacticile & science related stations, we always find something new and fun to do! Great Explorations in my opinion is the ideal size play stop without being too overwhelming. The entrance offers some small snack & drink options (not a full cafe or menu) as well as tables and seating. I pack our own snacks or lunch. The gift shop offers some neat inventory as well. I highly recommend this location as a stop with your little one!

Free for children under 2 years
$10 for ages 2 to 54 years
$9 for ages 55 and up.
Memberships are available

In addition to being a fun exploratory stop for kiddos any day, there are also options such as preschool, after school care, summer programs, other camps, outreach programs, birthday party programs and more.
