4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 24, 2014

I am a florida resident now in my mid-thirties. I've been to many hotels at various prices throughout my life and this hotel is nostalgic, pretty and hip. There were families and younger adults alike. Just enough energy to satisfy those wanting to have a drink in the evening while listening to live music but definitely not a party hotel. I love that they are dog friendly. I went with a friend visiting from out of town and I'll go back with mom, husband and the dog.

Postcard Inn's M.O. seems to be take old hotels in beach/water locations and add the minimum to update them and give them the modern minimalist look. The rooms are basic, not luxurious in any sense of the word, but clean and have everything you need. The staff is super friendly and helpful. And since we have a very old greyhound that we can't kennel, it is fabulous that the Postcard Inn is pet friendly. For the price on the beach, it is really a good deal - you can't beat it. We have stayed their twice and had positive experiences both times.

The one in Saint Pete is a fun place to stay! The pool is large, the tiki bar is great, and there is always a lot of activity going on at both. Lots of young people, but we are in our late 50s and we enjoyed it, too. The beach and water are beautiful, as is the case with all of the St. Pete/Clearwater beaches, and the hotel offers cabanas, beach volley ball, and other activities as options. Conveniently, you can walk down the beach very short distances to hit other beachfront restaurants and bars. It is a fun in the day as well as at night.

Dear Nice, Fun, Pet Friendly Place to Stay:

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience at PCI with other readers. The hotel completed some upgrades to the guestrooms this year and we have more planned for the upcoming near future. We continue to improve the guestroom without loosing our retro feel.

It was good to meet you when you were on property and I look forward to your return visit.

Stopped 3 nights just after school restarted so was relatively quiet.
Lovely place to stop which is quaint and reminiscent of the 60s and 70s with modern style.
Great atmosphere with a nice pool, good beach bar and a nice restaurant attached to the main complex offering good value tasty meals.

Dear Lovely and Takes me Back to my Younger Days:

I am glad you enjoyed your stay at the Postcard Inn. You are correct - the resort is definitely different and offers a glimpse to what a resort felt like back in the 60's but we offer all the amenities of a modern resort. Our pool is one of our best features and we boast the largest pools in the area.

Thanks again for the feedback and I look forward to your return visit.

Postcard Inn (PCI) – This is like Spring Break for adults on steroids out of college. The place is loaded with a terrific setup aided by a few “shack” bars, an oversized pool and hot tub surround by pavers for easy walking. We went there on Memorial Day Weekend 2014 and the place did not disappoint one bit. It's a great place to go down to the beach and play some water games like Cornholeonwater. They had a live “fiddler” band that played all types of hit songs and had an overall great sound keeping the crowd wildly entertained. The band was setup by Greg Holt “The Fiddler” in case you are interested and can be found here on Youtube. The PCI atmosphere alone makes up for any short comings you think if you've been. One piece of feedback to know is that most of the rooms backup to the pool alleviating that key privacy most folks are looking to get when they get away. Care to see more pics? Room Tip: Find one that faces the ocean and not the pool

Dear Guest:

Thank you for the feedback on your stay. The resort offers many amenities for guest usage such as corn hole, water basketball nets, pool table, table tennis, Friday night movie and live nightly entertainment just to name a few. We try to create a true full service resort with all the activities needed to keep the entire family entertained.

The guest that want a to be away from the hustle and bustle of the garden view rooms can always book the 2nd floor or the Classic View rooms, where things are a little more quiet.

Thanks

We just returned from a 3 night stay at the Postcard Inn. The Inn was charming, and low key for the most part. The Beach is beautiful from early in the AM to beautiful sunsets. When we arrived on Saturday the crowd was young and lively and fun - this was not a negative - (last hurrah of season). Only issue we had was in adjoining room a group was quite loud - we simply phoned security at midnight it was addressed immediately and quiet ensued. On Sunday and Monday the hotel filled with a more mature crowd.
The outside bar had a great selection of beer including lots of selections on tap. We had a casual and delicious dinner at the outside grill. And breakfast in the PCI Restaurant was a treat every morning. Don't miss the homemade corned beef hash and meat omelets. Once we parked our car we did not need it to take out out as everything we could want was in walking distance. Not to be missed, directly across the street is the St. Pete Beach Produce and Deli - authentic Greek Deli. We

Room Tip: Outside northside - parking lot view was quiet

Dear Charming Inn with Beautiful Sunsets:

Thank you for the positive feedback about your stay at the Postcard Inn. The resort has a lot of charm that is so different from a typical big box resort. The Postcard Inn has the old charm of a exterior corridor inn from the 60's with a retro feel but still offers all the amenities of a modern resort.

The resort has made many improvements in the restaurant including updating the menu, which included the featured breakfast hash, which is one of my favorites. I am glad you enjoyed it.

I look forward to your return visit.

Unique, retro decor. Huge lobby with many different places to sit and relax. Dogs are welcomed so it's a little strange, but fun to see a dog prancing across a hotel lobby.
Outdoor area to shoot pool and play ping pong. Spectacular, huge swimming pool. Hotel is right on the beach and there, s a snack shack and bar on the beach.
Especially accommodating staff who was very helpful.
I had two meals in their casual, indoor restaurant and enjoyed them both.

Dear Retro Décor, Superb Staff, Great Pool:

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience at the Postcard Inn. The hotel décor and retro feel is one of the main things that set us apart from other resorts. The Poolside Rooms are very popular because you have your own outdoor space, which include Adirondack chairs and a hammock in some rooms, as you described in your review. There are not many resorts that offer rooms like this.

There is talk about enlarging the bathrooms, which will really finish off the rooms if we complete this work. Stay tuned.

Thanks again for the feedback and I look forward to your return visit.
