My family visited the TradeWinds Island Grand Beach Resort during June 17th - 21, 2006. We all believed that the TradeWinds was wonderful. I enjoyed getting up early in the mornings walking down the beach collecting seashells. Watching the sunset as I lounged by the adult pool was also a joy. Be careful while walking down the beach without shoes on because the area right outside the resort contains a lot of shells and they tend to hurt my feet. However, a small distance down the beach is an area without a lot of shells. We booked a standard room in the Jacaranda Building. Our room faced the courtyard which was in close walking distance to all the resort activities. However, as I surveyed the hotel grounds I noticed that the rooms that were near the pools or bar/restaurants where subject a lot of activity and noise. Most of the pools did not close until 11:00 pm and many bar patrons where still gathering past midnight. I would like to have booked a suite near the pools. (For The Kids) The location of my room suited me just fine. I was able to take afternoon naps without hearing a lot of noise. The location of the resort is not too far from Busch Gardens, The Pier or Clearwater. However, the drive to Orlando was LONG. My family really enjoyed our vacation and will be back next year.
