We have been staying at the Alden for over 40 years and still love it! The rooms are clean and priced pretty reasonable, although prices shoot up during Holidays. They are upgrading the outdoor hot tub to a large 15 person tub, to be ready mid-December I believe. Pools are heated and a good size. Rumor has it the Wi-Fi is being upgraded, and will be free starting spring of 2013 but I had no official confirmation of that.

The Alden, for me, means Florida. Beautiful white sands that don't get hot, and palm trees swaying in the mostly slight gulf breeze, and of course the gulf. Right outside your window. We've stayed at the Alden about 5 times in the last few years. Loved the cabana bar and "miss Kitty". One year we brought our "kids" and grandkids to show them where we go after our Disney trip. Usually,we send them home from Disney, and my wife and I proceed to the Alden. I wanted to share this great experience with them, so we brought them for 4 or 5 days. They loved every single minute. So much so, that, we've booked for June of 2013. The staff were all helpful, and we never had any problems. We have stayed on the east coast a few times but when we decided to try the gulf coast and the Alden we both said "this is Florida !!" God willing, see you in June ....Alden!!!

Went to the Alden in mid November after recommendations from friends and thoroughly enjoyed our 10 days stay. We booked a Gulf view suite and upgraded to the 6th floor. Sun on our balcony all day and a sunset every night to die for. Its a great location and although theres numerous choices and various prices of resorts out there in the area, Im pretty sure you wont be disappointed if you choose this one. If I had one complaint it was our maid wasnt the friendliest and believe me between me and my wife, she had very very little to do in our suite each day so not too sure what her problem was. The front desk staff from arrival to departure were great. They really are a pleasure to deal with. In all our travels we dont normally go back to the same place twice only because theres so many choices to go to and we like to change but I wouldnt have a problem staying here again if and when we go back to St Petes Beach.

If you decide to book this hotel don't hesitate and book gulfview !
Wifi has to be paid ! And you have to take your towel from the room to the beach...THE seats there costs 20 $ à day ...
Last year we stayed in another hotel with 4 stars, all was free so all together it costed the same.
