“Evening on the Shuttle”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 18, 2013

In addition to their daily runs to Shell Key, the nice folks who run the Shell Key Shuttle give an hour and a half sunset cruise many evenings. A good way to end an active afternoon, this provides a chance for seeing Pass-A-Grille and surrounding islands from a different vantage point, and ends with a great view of the sunset over the open water.

One of the good things about this cruise is that it provides gentle education on such topics as respecting dolphins on their turf, while showcasing a couple of nature preserves.

Well done. We've done this before, and we'll be back.

“Loved It”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 15, 2013

I was very lucky in the sense that I went to Shell Key during the week in off-season. This meant that there were only 5 of us on the ferry across to Shell Key and it had a real Robinson Crusoe feel to it, there was just no one around. I spent three hours walking along the beach, finding quite a few Sand Dollars and nice shells. I was also lucky enough to see a group of small manta rays feeding very close to the beach - very gracious animals and a joy to watch. It was a hot day and there is no shade or any facilities on the island, so bringing your own drink and food is a must. The shuttle operators provided beach umbrellas and snorkels - make use of both! The staff on the shuttle were very friend and approachable and I had a nice chat on the way back. Definitely highly recommended.

“Great day on Shell key!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2013 via mobile

Very nice people. They gave us an umbrella, snorkeling equipment and plastic bags for our shells. The water was so clear. We saw a lot of live shells, birds, manatees, 2 types of manta rays, horse shoe crabs. Everyone had a great day- the way Florida used to be. highly recommend- can't wait to go again!

“Very well worth the trip to the island”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2013 via mobile

We booked a trip to the island one day in August and it was awesome. They provided us with an umbrella and snorkelling gear. We only spent 2hrs there as it was very hot but one can be there for hours, so beautiful is the place. Later in the week, we booked the sunset cruise with the same crew and had a great time again.
The staff are very accommodating, professional and extremely friendly. We'll return for another pair of tours. And if you do both toques with them there is a discount on the second. Very well done! Thank you.

“AWESOME!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 11, 2013

We had an amazing time! The staff was super nice and professional and even waited a few minutes past 10 to allow a bunch of people on that were running late.
We should have walked farther up the beach to find more sand dollars, (didn't figure that out until our walk back to the shuttle). We brought Subway and lots of water with us. They lend you umbrellas and snorkles. The tip about bringing mesh bags was spot on. We got big ones from the dollar store and tied a knot so they weren't so big. We found lots of unique shells, (saw live conchs & hermit crabs also) even though we had already been to Pass a Grille and St. Pete, (behind our hotel). The baby manta rays swam right up next to us and the leopard rays were jumping. There were also ospreys up on the poles and we think we saw a manatee. Also, there were fish everywhere. We did not want to leave but we were so hot!
