My wife and I have spent 3 or 4 nights in St. Pete Beach in each of the past 10 years. Until this year we had always stayed at another resort close to Bon Aire. After reading many of the glowing comments re: Bon Aire, we decided to try it this year. We did not make a mistake. It is reasonably priced and located on a beautiful "fluffy" sand beach. There is a bar right on the beach and plenty of chairs and chaises lined up along the edge of the sand. Delightful. We stayed in a basic room with a small refrigerator, stove top, sink, and dish & silverware. The beds were excellent, very comfortable. And there was a large flat screen tv. The only unusual thing we found was that there was no coffee for the coffee maker. In all the places we have stayed that have coffee makers in the room, packets of coffee were there each day. This is a minor gripe, as the room was clean, large, and relatively inexpensive. Each room had 2 chairs outside on the balcony, which, in our case, overlooked one of the two pools and lovely landscaped grounds. All in all, a great place to stay. We noticed young couples, many families, and even a few our age! We will be back.
We prefer an 2nd floor room. They tend to be quieter.
