“First Time Stay - Fantastic!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 13, 2011

It was recommened by a friend and she said we would like it .... she was wrong..WE LOVED IT !!....We arrived on Nov, 6, 2011 from a cruise and met the owner, Dave, in his office. Although we just met him he was like our best friend and went out of his way to make us feel at home. He explained all about the area including nice places to eat (within walking distance) and about some of the shopping malls that were only a short drive.(Note: There is a small convenience store about a 2 min walk where you can get bottled water, pop, beer, ice, wine, etc and the beer is cheaper than at Walmart !!) The beach is a beautiful 5 min walk and you could borrow lawn chairs from the hotel to sit on and watch the sun set. The heated pool was fantastic, the room was clean and A/C comfortable. It had a well equipped kitchen and there is a large BQ on site for your use. Parking was in front of the hotel and very easy to get in and out of. We sat out every evening with a drink and chatted with our neigbours. It was so relaxing and the area was very quite. We are already planning another stay with Dave next year...and why not..it was like staying with your best friends!!

Room Tip: Ask for a large room. They are $10.00/day more but worth it.

Very nice Inn / Motel which is just 200 Meters far from the beach. It's close to St. Pete's Beach city center as well as to markets. We had a nice flat including living room combined with a fully stuffed kitchen, a bed room and a bath as well as a store room. All rooms was clean and got up cleaned once a week. Low noisy air condition makes sleeping comfortable even in warm nights. The flat had two television one including DVD. The pool was clean every day and you have a lot of space arround as well as a barbecue for general use. There are even washing and drying facilities in the motel. It was a realy nice and unforgetable stay for me and my girlfriend in St. Pete's and in the motel.

My husband and friends spent a very relaxing weekend at this quaint motel. The rooms are cozy and extremely clean. We stayed in the efficiency which had a well equipped kitchen. The bed was very comfortable and the setting is quiet. The pool is gorgeous and heated. The setting is even nicer than it looks on the website. The walk to the beach is only a couple of minutes away, and very good restaurants are within walking distance. The owner, Dave, is so friendly and helpful in making your stay very special. This place is a true gem, and the price is very fair. I can't wait to return! T.O., Ocala, Fl

Just got back from yet another perfect stay at the Gulf Tides Inn. Dave & Adele are wonderful & make the holiday even better. The rooms are clean and tidy and serviced regularly with clean towels and anything else that you may need.
The pool area is immaculate & only less than 5 minutes from the beach and all other amenities. All in all a little piece of paradise, looking forward to returning next year & many years to come !

Positively, the welcome was great, everything was explained, the rooms can sleep 6, the pool is really nice etc., but:

1. The rooms aren't clean at all.
2. Location is really poor, well away from the beach.
3. Its not great value - you have to stay there 2 nights.
4. TV in bedroom didnt work.

OK I think for a couple of nights, but there's better value around.

Nothing too much trouble. Local info and advice by the bucketload. Smashing little apartments dotted round the generous pool.

I had planned a trip to Key West on Aug 23 and decided to go to St.Pete for a day or two to see what the storm was going to do, Dave was most helpful and so nice on the phone and in person. He gave us our choice of rooms, ours was perfect for my friend and I. The pool was clean and the outdoor area was perfect for relaxing or entertaining. The inn is so cute, will definitely return when in the area. Thanks Dave, you are wonderful, I could of stayed there all day just to hear you talk!! You are a real sweetheart and thanks for the tip of where to eat, the Double M band is great entertainment too there too.

Room Tip: Any of the rooms are great, all off the pool and a quiet street, we had #8 and it was perfect, decor...
