although off the beaten path of gulf blvd., the oyster shucker was my favorite restaurant during my stay in st. pete beach. the food was delicious, the staff was extremely attentive, and we got a great deal on the food. the night we went, a whole lobster was $18.95 - including a salad and a side. it was perfect. it was not crowded at all, which i though was a shame. the place was great and i wanted to go back, but didn't have enough time. definately recommend the oyster shucker!!!

Went here for the first time. The food was great!!! 6 of us went so we got to sample lots of stuff!!! The spicy shrimp was fantastic. The scallops were some of best we ever had, would put them up with a 5 stars!!! Make sure you get the fresh hot rolls. The nightly specials are awesome prices!!!!

Maybe it was because we eat early and our waiter thought that meant we were cheap, but we were treated poorly by our waiter. We both got the steak/shrimp early bird special, which was pretty good for what we paid. It came with a side dish - potatoes or rice, which we weren't asked what we wanted - just given potatoes (we preferred rice). It also came with a good salad, 1 roll each or you pay more for additional rolls (they were really good rolls), and a banana cake dessert that was very good. We saw the waiter only when he had to give us food, never refilled our drinks - it was like a huge burden to have to wait on us although there were only 3 or 4 other couples in the place. The host was nice in seating us outside and he ended up being a waiter to someone else, which got great service from him and the other couple had a waitress, and she provided them with good service. We got the dud.h

I ate at the Oyster Shucker on Monday, November 19th. I picked the place by chance, after leaving Philthy Phil's without eating because they were not interested in giving a single diner a dining room seat with a view, despite being only about 1/3 full (when I showed up and after I finished dinner at Oyter Shucker--I checked on my way back to the car).

As it turned out, this was my good fortune. I was greeted warmly by the hostess at Oyster Shucker, who made me feel welcome and took me to a very nice table on the window wall. My waitress, Nicole, was cordial and efficient. I ordered a split of Freixnet and had the boiled Maine lobster special. The salad was crisp and inviting and the fried okra was tasty. The lobster was quite fresh and good, and it was a pleasant change from the plethora of fried food being offered in many of the restaurants in the area. Service was attentive and efficient. The bill was about $16 for the lobster, $5 for the cava, and I left Nicole an $8 tip, happy to have had a good meal in a place that welcomes single diners.

The food at Oyster Shucker is fantastic, I have relatives that come from out of town and want to eat dinner at Oyster Shucker then listen to music at Woody's across the street. It's almost a ritual.
Coquilles St Jacques scallops are divine, and the lobster & shrimp pasta is the best anywhere! Go back and try it again, it's worth it.
