“FANTASTIC”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 7, 2014

My wife and I checked reviews for a place to dine. Snappers was very highly rated. We had a short 15 min wait. ( found this a bit difficult as I watched the fabulous looking dishes going by to be served, wow!) I'm impressed by the service, and the food was the very best! We enjoyed the blue cheese crusted filet mignon and the Fisherman's dinner( which could feed a family of 4). One of the best filets ever, and the seafood platter was huge, we each needed a to-go box. Artistic presentation and unique touches- like potato in puff pastry, excellent vegetable and salad. We will return before our vacation ends. Thank you staff

“Owner Dan does it right”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 7, 2014

Venerable reliable institution since late 1990s, mainly seafood but a wonderful Ribeye reputed as well. A lot of bang for the buck. Very well conceived and executed food, though not pretentious in this also not pretentious beach town. Located on the main drag, Gulf blvd, so no water view, even if a block from the Gulf of Mexico. The fact that the locals love it testifies to its steady quality. They do not take reservations. Owner has gone on to open two other nearby restaurants after this one's success.

“Great start. ”

Our first time at St. Pete's and we went for our first meal here. The grouper was great and my wife's crab cakes were outstanding. Nice way to start a vacation. Just go!

“Wonderful Dinner - Plan ahead for the wait”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 5, 2014

We had about 45 minute wait out front for a table of 4 not so bad for a Sunday night at 7pm but we were out in the sidewalk waiting which might not be great for everyoen.

The waiter was so excellent explaining the choices, bringing flatbreads and water immediately and round of drinks. My husband is a whiskey drinker only so we didn't have adult beverages that night helping with the bill. The house salads were served and loved by 3 of us and my finicky teen got a salad with no dressing and he liked it too. That helps them to keep things moving as they do an amazing job in a small space.

The pecan encrusted mahi mahi was awesome, the wasabi tuna did not disappoint and was so large a portion I had tuna for lunch the next day. Loved the pastry puff potatoe also and the plates were beautiful. My son got a special $45 lobster, scallops and shrimp special that was beautiful, large and worth the money. He even ate the edible flower on the plate.

The lobster risotto with shrimp wasn't as good as we thought it would be - the risotto wasn't as flavorful or texture as I have had in the past but the shrimp was tasty.

We would recommend this to anyone so plan for a wait and be hungry. the food was so awesome and service so good that you shouldn't miss this restaurant. Too bad they don't have liquor as they missed out on some $ from us.
