On Feb 6, 2013, my husband and I walked into Snappers at 5:15 pm to take advantage of their early bird specials advertised in
"Best Beach Restaurants" current publication dated August 2012-March 2013. We had the ad in our hands that advertised early bird specials from 4-5:30 pm. However, management refused to honor the ad saying it was old (pamphlet printed said good through March 2013) and that their specials ended at 5:00 pm. They pointed to a sign in the restaurant to that effect. There was a coupon for free zucchini fries that clearly expired on Dec 31, 2012 but there was no such disclaimer on their ad for the early bird specials nor was there a disclaimer stating management reserves the right to change their policy.
Instead the manager chose to turn away customers who drove to their restaurant in good faith (and who gave them a previous positive review on Trip Advisor) because the early bird specials were no longer available.
This is poor customer satisfaction. If management intends to limit the time period they choose to advertise, it should be clearly stated in the ad and not verbally to customers who made the trip based on their ad. Clearly I have no further interest in visiting this restaurant.
