“Very relaxing!!!!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 24, 2013

My husband and I had a short stay at Sabal Palm Inn, but it was just perfect. Not knowing what to expect, this is a quaint little Inn, just south of St. Pete. beach. We bicycled all over town, on the complimentary bikes. We rented Kayaks from Eddie at the Inn and he helped us carry them to the beach. Eddie and Anna made us feel very confortable and relaxed. We would recommend this place to anyone. In fact, we have told all our co-workers. Clean rooms, heated pool, bikes to borrow, kayaks to rent. Across from the beach, in walking distance to restaurants, bars and fishing. We will be back!!!!! Thank you for the great service!!!!!

Spent the first three weeks of March at Sabal Palms....think this was our ninth year here and have such great feelings for Yudit, Eddie and others. We had a problem with the mechanics of the bathroom fixture and Eddie fixed it immediately. Yudit's friendliness and concern for our comfort is always so welcomed. She takes such great care of us during our stay and we appreciate it. We will continue to return year after year.....Joe, the mattresses could be firmer for us older folks ...

THis is our second stay here. Although the weather in early March isn't good ( windy and cold), the location on serenely quite Pass A Grille and the friendly staff propel you toward the hope of a decent beach day. And, the beach is terrific! My husband, an avid cyclist, can generally get 15-20 miles in of traffic-free pedaling by going to Tierra VErde. We also love Ft. DeSoto County Park.....perfect beach, great birding and several miles of decent cycling & walking.

The staff was extremely nice! We didn't have a car rented so the manager drove out and picked us up and dropped us off. The rooms are very very clean. Across the street is the the beach and down the road is the bay. The location is perfect for families who enjoy peace and quiet.

We just returned home from our seventh year @ Sabal Palms, and cant wait for next February. As other reviewers have said, it's not fancy or luxury, but it's clean, cozy and just right for a quiet beach vacation in Pass-a-Grille. If you are looking for a sweet, quaint small hotel within walking distance to a quiet beach and some really nice lunch spots, this will fit the bill. Emigdio, Yudit, Eddie and Anna - you rock. The staff makes us feel like returning family, and they cater to every need. This year, our whole family was struck with a stomach virus 2 days into our stay. Yudit was an angel, changing linens, giving extra blankets, and checking in daily to see what we might need. EVERYONE was sure to check in and ask us how we were feeling, giving the kids extra attention, and making us again realize why we keep coming back to this very special place. Book us for the next 7 years, we love you guys - we're hooked :) (But Joe, the futon in unit 5 needs a little love - a million thanks to Eddie for the air mattress that saved the day!)

If you're looking for a fancy resort with a commercialized feel then this isn't for you. Sabal is a very quaint and cozy. Please note Pass A Grille is in a small historic district. The beach is amazing!! The beach restaurant is yummy and serve alcohol. There are sometimes vendors and live music. There's a yummy ice cream shop, any restaurants, a few bars, a few unique boutiques....if you wanna do shopping just go to Johns Pass or Clearwater..only 10-20 minutes away. So our first stay was shocking! After driving 18 hours the kids ran to the pool well it's more like a hot tub. My husband said what on earth it's small..I laughed. The beach is all you need. We then go to our room in the basement or as regulars call it.. The dungeon...I said oh my well....this is all we need right?!!! We will be outside!!! As the days went on I understood why people love it.....I fell in love after a day!!!! The kids LOVED the hot tub in the morning and I drank my coffee while meeting other guests. They were regulars and all so kind. The manager and staff were so nice. The bikes were old but who cares!! My kids and I would ride down to the jetty on the other side of the pier and go shelling in the rocks (best shells ever over there!) Then we would ride to the Merry Pier and watch dolphins and ride back to Pass a Grille to watch the best sunsets around!!!!! This beach and Inn simply make you happy. It's relaxing and not all crazy like most beaches. A few miles away is Fort de Soto!!! Go to the Pier there!!!! 100% guaranteed you'll see at least 10 dolphin and if youre looking even sea turtles!!! So many places to eat!! Take an evening and go to Tarpon Springs to Hellas!! Its Greek town and you can't find better Greek food anywhere! Sabal Palms has a huge gas grill if you'd like to grill out on their enormous deck while you watch all the cute little geckos! The boutique (I forget the name) is pricey but they have nice Tshirts that say Pass A Grille on them for around $20 each. This is just the best beach ever. I'm so in love with it. Sabal Palms makes it even better....it's just so non resort like but they make you feel so welcome. It's very clean! I never saw one bug! Clean towels!! Just go!!! Who cares if youre in the dungeon haha!!! You're not there to be inside the whole time!! I am going again in a few weeks for 10 days!!! I'm so excited! Put it this way...the beach, the area and Sabal Palms made me cry on the way home....I loved it so much and didn't wanna leave. My husband asked our daughters aged 12 and 8 if they wanted to go to a bigger resort like place instead......they firmly said NO we want Sabal Palms and Pass A Grille!! :)

Just spent a week at Sabal Palms; we have been going there for more than 10 years now. We know the staff well: Emigdio, Yudit, and Eddie. They do an outstanding job of making you feel like you are the most important customer there. If you want fancy digs, the sister property, Coconut Inn, is the place. If you want comfortable and more simple accommodations, the Sabal Palms on the beach is the place!

Room Tip: Units 1,2, and 3 face the ocean. Unit 5 has a deck from which you can see the ocean.
