“Great mini vacation at the beach house suites!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 23, 2012 via mobile

Overall my stay at the beach house suites was excellent. The only negative thing about the rooms were that the doors were really hard to open. You have to really put some muscle into opening the door. The elevators felt like a sauna. Other than that, the place was great, the staff was really friendly and we had easy access to the beach.

back again after a 2 year gap and had expected a bit of upgrading but alas no...well not yet although I believe something is going to happen soon!!

think you`ve had your monies worth from the current set up so come on leows, put your hand in your deep pockets and bring the suites back up to the quality your regulars deserve...and that will also encourage newbies!

still had a ball of a time...staff, particularly ceri, susan, and your new bearded receptionist were great...very welcoming..and the 4th july fireworks on the barge just offshore were greatly appreciated. would still go back tomorrow if we could!!

Room Tip: got to be pool or beach view..and the higher the better...both for your views and your health...keep...

Great location-but very outdated rooms- carpet very old-gaps and bumps in rug-advantage if you have a pet-:) The sofa wall hangings and bedrooms balcony furniture, bathrooms all n desperate need of updating. For the price- ocean-view can't complain but disappointed in the quality as a Don Cesar property.
The service at the main Don Cesar pool bar food was awful- food was cold and it took forever for help to come

Our family stayed here for the first time, June 17-20. Upon arrival the outside of the building looks to be in pretty good shape. The suites are a good size, clean and had a beautiful views but... The units are EXTREMELY outdated. The furniture was in rough shape and needs to be replaced. The staff was kind. The pool area was clean and seemed to be kept up. We do not think we will stay here again.

We love St. Pete's Beach but wanted to stay somewhere different and that had a balcony. We thoroughly enjoyed our side view "condo" - 1 KING, 2 pullout couches, kitchen, dining room, 2 full bath, washer/dryer for 2 adults, 2 kids was plenty! We were in Room 4505 that still overlooked ocean and pool area. The balcony is huge - table, 4 chairs, and 1 lounger chair! The room was clean and had pretty up-to-date decor; only the couches looked a but worn.

We found the elevators to be a bit slow so we usually got our exercise taking the stairs. Pool area was nice and someone would set your chair up for you but I thought the "resort" fee was a bit much. However, you have access to a free shuttle to anywhere on the strip, including all access to Don Cesar sister resort. We went poolside on 2 different occasions and really enjoyed the luxury it had to offer - I guess if you really use their facilities I could see where the resort fee would be charged.

We found the frontdesk staff and cleaning staff to be very friendly and helpful too! I'm not sure if they actually had free internet or not because our iphones wouldn't connect to their network. We definitely enjoyed ourselves and hopefully will return!

Room Tip: I think ocean side view rooms shouldn't be discounted - we stayed in 4505 and thought it was gre...

when i booked my hotel there were photos of the Don on the web site, and as i used to live in FL i assumed that because of its size this was going to be an extension of that same building. when i arrived i was told (as many others have been told) that i needed to go about 2 mi north. i pull up, and see the pink and think well maybe these are just as nice. HAHAHAHA not at all!!!

the staff at the counter was rude to me when checking in, and hard to understand. i get to my room, and have to fight with the door to get it opened. when i first walked in my impression was that i had been the first person in this room in more than 5 years, there was a strong musty smell. the decor looked to be straight off the studio for a tacky beach themed 80s sitcom.

the bathroom was small, the kitchen area looked as though it had been cleaned very hastily the bed room was way too small for the king size bed (i have a feeling they only put in there so they could raise the price with the word KING) not to mention that the mattress was hard like a rock.
the living room/dining room had VERY warn furniture, i was afraid that i would break anything if i were to sit down on it too quickly.
the only part of the room that i actually did enjoy was the balcony, but just for the idea of sitting out side on a cool night and having a drink. however even this was not as described, the description of the room said i would have a view of the ocean. to be fair if i stood on a chair and had some binoculars i MIGHT be able to see the water over the tops of the palm trees, but the view mainly consisted of the fence that sectioned off the LOUD bar that is in the next lot over, and the pool.

i stayed at this location for a week and for the money that i paid i could have been much happier in a hotel that was no where near the beach, and the amenities would have undoubtedly been much better too, not to mention the view would have been the same.

Room Tip: dont book here!!!!

We enjoyed our stay at the Beach House Suites. Our unit was on the fifth floor and had a king suite with master bathroom, hallway bathroom with shower, a living area with two pull out couches that our kids slept on, plus a full kitchen and washer/dryer. We enjoyed our view of the gulf from the fifth floor. The bed was very comfortable and the place very clean. I noticed various staff on property sweeping, cleaning and keeping the surrounding proprety bug free. The staff were all very accomodating and went out of their way to be friendly by holding elevator doors, lending a hand to the mom (me) carrying too many beach/pool accessories at one time, etc. The pool area is very large and provides plenty of reclining beach chairs and umbrellas, plus poolside towels are provided. I was a little annoyed that they charge a $25 resort fee on top of the room rate, plus if you wanted to rent cabanas on the beach they were $20 a day, while I noticed they were provided free of charge at the Tradewinds resort a little further down the beach. Of course, the Tradewinds was a little more expensive per night than what we paid using the name your own price feature on priceline. We definitley lucked out! I would love to stay again in the future, but not sure if I would pay the published rates per night. St. Pete Beach is beautiful. We came in on the heels of tropical storm Debby, so temps were perfect - 85 and windy, which is much better than our 104 degree temps in the midwest right now!

Room Tip: Floors 3 and above are supposed to be the pet free floors. However, I noticed a dog on the balcony o...
