“Amazing View and Great Staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 weeks ago

The staff at this hotel worked hard to accommodate our needs and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there because of their effort. We arrived at the hotel in need of rest. We began our 6 night stay in room 915 but the music from Bongos below kept us awake. The next day the manager gladly offered us another room (617) on the other side of the hotel. It was a very quiet, room, although if you're out on the balcony you can hear the loud music from the hotel next door, but in the room it was very quiet. For us this made a huge difference. We still had a beautiful Gulf view. The rooms weren't 'wow' but they were nicely decorated, clean and with everything working well. It was obvious things are well maintained. Meals at Spinners (revolving restaurant), lunch at Bongos on the beach and breakfast at the Palm Room were all very good. Free parking (the underground has plants and paintings on the walls ...that was a nice attention to detail!) Towels are free for the asking from the front desk but beach cabanas are $25. for the day. We found the price worth it. The gym needs some TLC but we spent most of our time at the beach anyway. The pool looked nice but again, we didn't really use it ...we loved the beach, which by the way was kept clean and groomed. A huge delight!

Room Tip: Definitely consider if you are an early to bedder, make sure that you choose a room on the far side...

The rooms here really are great, my husband and I were very comfortable. Bongos was awesome as well. The service was great until we hit a glitch. We did not go to the beach because the water was way too warm so we opted for the pool. The pool was pretty small for a resort this size. We noticed straight off that it wasn't very clean. By the last day there was a layer of scum floating on top of parts of it which kept us out. Upon speaking to the front desk about it we were assured it would be taken care of. We left the resort for hours and when we got back it was still as dirty if not more so than it was earlier. If you don't require the use of a pool it overall is a great place. If you like to use the pool look elsewhere!!

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the opposite side of bongos. The smell on the deck on the bongos side was pretty b...

We had only two nights, but next time it will be longer. Room had a wonderful view of the Gulf and a great little porch to sit and enjoy the beautiful sunsets. Spinners is a really first rate experience in well-prepared and served meals. The staff at the hotel was friendly and very helpful. Check in and check out went without a hitch. We enjoyed Bongos on the beach, and also the live entertainment. Coming back for certain. Thanks Grand Plaza!

Room Tip: Choose the Gulf view if you can, and the higher rooms do have less A/C unit noise.

The location on the beach is awesome. Our family has gone there since our children were little and now we got to go with our kids and grandchildren. It was great family vacation. The hotel is clean and well kept, they are always improving things. The rooms are clean and I think we always have plenty of room. We stayed for 8 nights, we asked for adjoining rooms which they couldn't guarantee but Sharon at the front desk made it happen. All the staff does whatever they can to make your stay enjoyable. We ate at Spinners a few nights the food and service was excellent and as always the best view ever. We cant wait to go back.

Room Tip: I like the higher floors because the view is better.

Great hotel, the room was on the small side but it was well maintained. The staff was excellent. 2 great restaurants (Bongos Beach Bar and Spinners) Great location. Close to many restaurants. Great views and a right on the beach.
Nitpicks; No hot tub or spa and they could comb the beach every morning.

Convenient price and location! Rooms are well equipped. Not spacious but just fine for two people, more people would've made it cozy. Handled kids setting off evacuation process with fireworks very professionally. Woke up to evacuation announcement but had the problem solved within 3 flights down and back to our rooms we went. Only issue I had was house keeping. For tiles floors at the beach, they still need to be vacuumed and mopped daily. Neither of the attendants did that after I requested it twice. There was sand we could feel on the tile and our feet were dirty within 10 minutes of taking a shower. We were only there three nights so I can't complain much. If we had been there longer I would've addressed it with the front desk. Overall very satisfied with the stay! Beach and sunsets are wonderful!

I had a fabulous stay here, in one of the amazing penthouse suites! The room was immaculately clean and had a gorgeous view of the beach. The staff was friendly and wonderful! Most importantly of course is that the beach was clean and beautiful! The beach was not overly crowded, but obviously had a lot of people on it since it was a resort complex. Bongo's was a lot of fun, and had great drinks, and it was also nice to literally be on the beach at the bar. Overall I had a fantastic stay, and I shall return!

Room Tip: Go with the beachfront, or if you really want an amazing view, then penthouses!
