“High mileage facility, good staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 22, 2014

We had beach front ground floor room. Didn't think about having a room facing the west will give you maximum sun exposure. It was blazing hot outside and the room air was inadequate. Needs a better a/c, was blowing barely a breeze. We could see several repairs to the wall from previous damage, just felt old and low class. The room and grounds staff were all very friendly. Seemed to be happy and in a good mood.
We did have an issue with front desk concerning beach cabanas. Apparently, if you are staying multiple days, they want you to pre pay for the cabanas for the entire period. We wanted only one day. We had to stand our ground and do just one day. I would suggest you do get one though. Makes beach experience so much nicer. However you have to mark your cabana somehow or the beach cruisers will avail themselves of your cabana.
These issues were offset by the way they handled our medical emergency. We had a family member with a serious med problem and had to leave with one day remaining on our reservation. It was around 2pm and I expected to be charged for our remaining day we couldn't stay. I was pleasantly surprised they went with an early check out and forgave our remaining day. That was a classy move and much appreciated. We would like to return someday and give it another shot though.
Plenty of restaurants close by, within a mile or two.

Room Tip: You want beach, you got beach. You want fancy and beach, go to Miami.

You can't go wrong with St. Pete Beach, but you can definitely stay in a nicer hotel.
Pools were lovely and appreciated the towel service.
My room was an extremely dated plain hotel room facing the road. It was very dark and "dingy" feeling. The washroom was very small.
The bar and it's food were lovely. If you spend very little time in your room, and get a superb deal, then it's ok.

We had a wonderful, spacious room/suite overlooking the beach and Gulf. The carpet was brand new and so were the curtains, shower curtains etc. The room was very clean and spacious. There was a separate living area with couch, table for 4 and kitchen. The kitchen area had a full size refrigerator with stove, sink, microwave and toaster. There were dishes and pots and pans if you wanted to cook. There are 3 pools at the resort to chose from and two beach bars. Each bar also serves food and has entertainment. There also is an inside air conditioned restaurant. This is a great, casual beach resort for families, with lots of activities. There is a slide for the kids on the beach. I believe there is a separate charge for that. The beach is quite large and cabbannas are available, which in August were needed. There is no resort fee, so some things are extra, but then you only pay for what you use. The staff was extremely courteous and helpful. We would definitely go again and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The free wifi is a little slow at peak times, but not a problem and you can purchase faster wifi if you need it.

Room Tip: Building 4 end/corner unit has a great view of the beach and partial resort view. Our room/suite was...

My husband and I took our three kids to St. Pete Beach at the Sirata for 4 nights. The hotel was not the quality we are used to but knew that prior to arriving. What was important was that it was CLEAN! Nothing was falling apart, or cruddy or gross to me. So, it worked for us. The pools could get busy but it ebbed and flowed. My kids had a blast with the pool and beach and all of the amenities. Captain Dave's Watersports was a bonus. Food was average and pricey, but it was to be expected. My only real complaint is lack of good food/putt putt/activities for kids in the area. Don't eat at Sea Critters. There is a pier in Madeira Beach close by with good eateries. Hotel was not bad overall, would come back, beach was gorgeous. Very family oriented. Couples beware.

It's an older resort hotel. The place has the apperance of being clean but if you look closer it really isn't. Our coffer pot was dirty and the room could have been cleaner. Our room was small but had a nice view. The food at the restaurant was average and costly. The pools were nice. As to the area there really isn't much to do. Very little shopping and not very many places to eat. I would not recommend St Pete Beach as a good vacation spot. Clearwater Beach is a better vacation area by far or even Treasure Island which is not to far from St Pete Beach would be a better choice to book a vacation hotel stay.

Room Tip: Book a hotel on Clearwater Beach instead.

We loved the resort...Originally we had a beachfront room booked but changed to a suite...The suite was awesome and had all the space we were looking for....We were happy that they charged us the original room price...Internet service was on the slow side, but other than that we were happy with stay....

So having read the positives and more than we cared to read of negatives we proceeded, as our first choice was booked out, to Sirata. First impressions always count and when we entered the building we were staying in the outdated furniture and décor was gobsmacking. We were shown to our room and I was stunned. This hotel is really a version of a motel which badly needs updating. We complained that the rrom, whilst we choose it, was not as represented and not of the standard we expected. We were upgraded to a queen suite for a negotiated extra fee and were happy enough to proceed with our vacation there as the alternative was to loose our payment (already paid through travel company) and pay high rates for a new hotel. The facilities, as it turned out, were good enough but really they need to paint this place for a start. There is a part of the hotel for conferences which seemed nicer and different (we had to use this access route when the lift was broken) and the king rooms had a nice situation but we werent prepared to add extra bigger costs to upgrade to these. The food was ok in the restaurants and the staff are very pleasant but we found ourselves migrating to the other nicer hotel amenities and restaurants and also the eateries in surrounding area. It was so so hot as we were there beginning August and the sea is very warm but quite safe...the pools at all hotels are tiny so standing room only when the hotels are full! The beach beds with canopies are a must and the only way you can survive on the beach for the day. This is a very different beach vacation compared to beach holidays in Europe....glad we tried it but wont be back soon

Room Tip: everyone is different and when im on vacation I like my luxury when paying for it so if you are the...
