“Nice resort with average amenities”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 23, 2013

I would give our stay here a B+, the plus coming from the fantastic weather which we appreciated migrating from Boston. The wifi situation wasn't good, you have to pay but on the plus side that forced us to get offline and really enjoy the beautiful beach. Bring sunscreen!!! The UV is really serious. Also watch out for the stingrays. April - Oct is stingray migration season and I saw two of those guys, gave me a bit of a start. There are dolphins you can watch in the morning. Take the free taxi service(tip $5 to $10) to Pass-a-Grille for a nice dinner and chat with the fisherman on the docks where they catch big sheepshead fish. The revolving restaurant next door to the Sirata was nice; I would have appreciated breakfast available for the price; the iHop is across the street and down a ways and getting across that busy street is a challenge. Housekeeping was lax and not very interested in tidying the rooms. All in all, I've stayed in better resorts but we were there for sun and sand and definitely got that!

Room Tip: ask for a quiet room. I thought it would be noisy due to the weddings but the AC unit drowns everyth...

Dear JenJamilah,
Thank you so much for choosing the Sirata Beach Resort. We appreciate your feedback on our beautiful “Sun and Sand” conveniently located resort. Please accept our apologizes for the less than desirable housekeeping services, you can rest assured this isolated incident has been corrected. In regards to our Wi-Fi pricing, we do not charge a resort fee like many of our competitors, but charge according to usage. This approach is preferred by almost all of our guests. We appreciate your business and hope to see you again in the near future.

The staff was always friendly and helpful. Right on the beach. Rooms are a little small and dated but functional. Beach bar was fun and had good food. There was a very large event on the beach with big crowds. Sirata folks worked hard to make it work for everyone.

Upon arrival we had an issue with checking in due to the travel website we went through to book the trip. Bookit.com never got the confirmation to the hotel, so when we went to check in the hotel did not have our reservation in their system yet. Even though I received a confirmation email. After a few tense moments as to whether we were going to have a room. Sirata Front Desk staff Glen and Polly went above and beyond to make sure we did indeed have a room for our stay. Did I mention the hotel was SOLD OUT! They went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. As I will NEVER use Bookit.com for another reservation again I definitely HIGHLY recommend this resort and would absolutely stay here again. We enjoyed the pool, beach, food and view from our room. Everyone was very very friendly and very helpful. Thank you again to all the Sirata Beach Resort Staff on making our stay with you so GREAT!!

The Sirata is a great place to have a beach wedding. The wedding planner, Melanie, was a wonderful help for my daughter. She is a great asset to the Sirata. The facility is awesome. I wish the Compass Grill had the breakfast buffet every day instead of just weekends! They give the wedding guests a discount on rooms and parking. This brings me to my only disagreement with the Sirata. We checked in on a Tuesday for a Thursday wedding. We wanted to stay until Sunday but they will raise your room rates on Friday and Saturday nights. I ask why? They said it is their weekend rates. Their weekend rate is substantially higher so we moved up the beach to a different resort for our last two nights. It was a bit of a hassle but saved us a lot of money. I tried to get them to let us stay there at the weekday rate but they wouldn't budge. Even after I paid for a beach wedding at their place.

Room Tip: Stay during the week for better prices!

Once we found our room, with little directions from the front desk, when we arrived in the middle of the night, it was okay, quiet clean, and comfortable. Everything in working order, although some refacing could benefit it in the very near future. Beautiful, spacious beach area with chairs for rent for $15/day for hotel guests...Ouch! Or throw the available beach towels right on the sand for free. None the less, the beach was clean with decent amount of traffic from other resort guests, strollers, & joggers from early morning on. The beach bars had good drinks, good service, & good food. The live music, just good enough to stay in the background though. Only dipped in the hot tub, but all pools and their areas seemed cleaned and well maintained, including the bathrooms. The hotel restaurant was lovely maritime themed and food was amazing. The sunsets were spectacular.

Stayed at Sirata April 8-14th. Hotel was great. Staff was always helpful and courteous. Stayed in a one bedroom suite and thought it was fine. Spacious, kitchenette, clean. Wish the fridge would of gotten a little colder, no biggie though. Location was awesome. Pools were great. We ended up eating right at Harry's for lunch and dinner most o the time because we didn't want to leave the pool and beach. Food at the hotel was very good and comparable in price to local restaurants. Cannot say enough good things about our trip and our stay at Sirata. Gift shop staff was great. Will be coming back soon hopefully. Great job Sirata!

Dear Dougc21,
Thank you so much for your kind comments and high recommendation. We were delighted you enjoyed the entire property. We appreciate you pointing out that the pools and jacuzzis are amazing. We wholeheartedly agree with you that Harry’s bar is the only place to eat on the beach. There is no reason to go anywhere else. Thank you for your business and we look forward to your return.

We enjoyed staying right on the each with access to multiple restaurants and bars. The staff was great- visit Renee in the lobby lounge!
Beware- they take a photocopy of your credit card before you check out. This I have NEVER seen before! They said they do it in case you dispute the charges they can have proof you were there. I'm afraid some hotel assistant is going to be buying laptops at BestBuy tonight with my card number.
