“Great Vacation”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 15, 2012

I just came from Sirata after a week stay. I took advantage of their all inclusive package. We saved a little money by doing this but the big savings was the convenience of having everything budgeted for, including gratuity and not having to carry any money with us. The only extra money we spent was outside the resort. All of the employees were very nice, helpful and courteous. We have to change rooms due to our own issues not the resorts. They moved everything for us and were very helpful. The only additional charge that I was not told about at booking time was a $38 per night incidental charge that would be refunded at the end of the stay. This charge was only reserved to my account and came back off the day I checked out. The resort it's self is slightly dated but not as bad as other reports portray it to be. This is a 3 star resort is a 3 star resort per Trip Advisor but I have stayed in many 4 and 5 star resorts and though this resort would not class as a 5 star it should definitely be a 4 star. The property is well taken care of, They have been upgrading the facilities and the rooms are very clean and do not smell musty as most beach resorts do (even some 4 & 5 star). The food is very good and a fair selection on the menus. You will have to go off the resort if you want the big fresh seafood dinner though. I have stayed at a lot of different beaches in Florida and this has been the best so far. We plan to go back soon. Unless you are one who expects a 5 star Hollywood resort sitting on the beach you should try this place. If you want 5 star then stop shopping the resorts with moderate rates. Good job Sirata!

Room Tip: King suites are straight through models with fold out sofa. If 2 beds are needed I would suggest the...

Yes, this hotel needs "some" work, but overall......from the moment that I made my reservation, thank you Megan, we were completely happy with our hotel/room/restaurants/bars/fire pit/pool/beach experience! On the beach walking either direction will keep you occupied for hours as the bars and restaurants are a blast, the view is incredible.

I like how the pools were situated and the service was great, the beach cabanas were worth the view. It's a laid back staff, and well sometimes you would have to wait or remind them, but what's the hurry anyway.. it's florida time.

I gave this place a chance and I am very happy with the outcome.
We liked our view and well the room was "ok", but we were never in it.

Room Tip: anything on the south end gulf/pool side. That was nice.

Other than the room needing renovation...we had such a great time that the brownish carpet and old furniture was not an issue. Harry's Grille has exceptional bartenders and Jo especially went above and beyond to cater to us. There was live entertainment on Friday night that was great. The fire pit was lovely. Plenty of pool chaise lounges at any time of day and the towel hut always had plenty of towels. We had breakfast at the Compass Grille also onsite and our waitress, Cathy, was exceptional. We were greeted warmly by the gatekeepers and the front desk....and it smells coconutty at check in which makes you want to run to the beautiful beach. Also, plenty of cabanas on the beach. We really enjoyed our 3 night getaway very much and would highly recommend Sirata for everyone.

Room Tip: Our room was on the second floor in the 400 building. It had a peak of the ocean. Was right next t...

I purchased two nights here after seeing a deal offered through Hotwire. I thought I researched this place well enough and was excited until I opened the room door. Lipsticked, old room, with damaged dressers, original bathroom set-up from the 70's complete with built-in tissue box. Crazy pics in the toilet shower area covered up who knows what. I was wishing I had brought my own sheets and pillows as these smelled like our musty old A/C did. Have to say, every staff person was very, very nice and helpful and we met some great folks from Clermont, FL who come to the Sirata a few times a year. They said the rooms in he courtyard, where we were are dated and they now stay in the efficiencies. Great staff, the bar and guest shop were enjoyable and the beach was fantastic. We'll give the Sirata another swing and aim to stay in the efficiencies next time.

We often receive compliments on the friendliness of the staff here at Sirata Beach resort, we are very pleased you noted the excellence of service. The efficiencies (or studio rooms) were completely renovated a few years ago and are much larger than the traditional rooms, however, starting in June we will be replacing the furniture and bedding in all of the rooms which will give them a much more modern, fresher look. We are a family owned and operated resort, continually making improvements. We look forward to seeing you again and would love to know what you think of our newly updated rooms next time you stay with us.

Appearance not as shown in ads. We booked 5 months in advance and were told we'd have a pool-view room but were asssigned one overlooking the parking lot as were the majority in our party who traveled from out of state to attend a family member's wedding. Our room had a window with a loose glass panel, the air-conditioning unit ran 24/7 and it's face-cover was askew - tacky looking. The furnishings look worn and tired, the room smelled very strongly of bleach with an underlying odor of mustiness. The toilet ran when flushed unless you "jiggled" the handle and there was a handprint on the bathroom wall. Overall, the room reminded me of an old 1950's motel. The wedding planner did do a wonderful job though and she should be commended. Won't ever stay here again.

The central St. Pete beach location of the Sirata makes this hotel a very good choice.
We got an amazing price on Priceline and even with parking charges of 9/night we feel we received a good value for money spent .
The hotel IS dated--- no question about that. The rooms are clean but definitely not luxury class. Showers are standard tub showers and the rooms are a bit cramped in that 60's styling .
Service was good and housekeeping was responsive for more towels and shampoo.
The Sirata has pay washers and dryers and a mini workout room.
2 Beach bars are stocked with drinks and food making life out at St. Pete beach very good!
Again, don't expect luxury but you do get a good value for your $ spent at the Sirata.

This hotel was clean, easy to navigate, and right on the beach. There are 3 pools, 3 bars, and 1 restaurant on site. I especially liked that the pool areas had adequate shade for lounging w/o frying yourself. The restaurant was o.k., but can be pricey. Some of the people in our party spent $70.00 for 4 for breakfast. But, we had the child's breakfast for $4.95. 1 egg, 2 bacon, 1 toast, & potatoes. We were able to order it as adults, which not all restaurants allow. The service was excellent. I had a problem w/the toilet running (stuck flap). They came w/in 10 min. & fixed it in another 10. Amazing.

Room Tip: Beach view rooms on the 2nd floor & above have great views.
