We booked a room with my Hilton Honors number, so we expected a good experience. Room was at the end of the hall on the 3rd floor. Room and bath were large; bath had separate shower - all nice, so far. Then stuff went south – one of the lamps in the sitting area was broken - the bulb was lying horizontal to the desk with the wires exposed. I called the desk and the fellow who checked us in came up with a bulb. On seeing the situation he attempted to “fix” the lamp with his hands – no tools. At this time we called and asked for a change of rooms, but the desk indicated that they could not give us a comparable room. I was not impressed with the desk's attitude - especially since we were HHonors members. We did not change rooms, consequently the lamp remained off for the duration of our stay. The next morning we noted that the shower turned off with the handle at the 12 and 6 o'clock positions - so adjusting the temp was interesting. More interesting was that the water temperature fluctuated between hot and lukewarm. The first time the temp cycled cooler I adjusted the temp up only to have hotter water return minutes later. I warned my wife and she was able to successfully negotiate the shower. A reasonably large window, the one closest to the bed, opened onto No. Ponce de Leon, mere feet away from the very colorful, very bright sign for the adjacent hotel – not really an issue unless you want to keep the interior, light-blocking shade open at night. Room was Ok clean, but not immaculate by any stretch. All-in-all, I did not think our room – for about $200 - for the night was worth it.
Don't know - maybe don't tell them your a Hilton Honors member??
