“How can you not want to start a vacation this way?”

OK, let's be serious about it. No one takes the trolley because of the unlimited on and off capability. You take the trolley to get a great "lay of-the-land" and orient yourself to the city you are visiting. The Old Town Trolley of St Augustine does just that. This is a well run and well organized venture with superb communications so that the logistics run well. You won't wait long anywhere and the quickly dispatch support if one trolley gets too crowded. I did fall for the "upsale" (again) when buying my tickets by purchasing more than I could really us. And there really isn't a need to buy the three day ticket in a town this small when you can walk to anything. But all in all it was a worthwhile ticket. In fact it rained on one of the days and I ends up using all the unsold tickets I regretted buying I the first place!

“Excellent company!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 12, 2013 via mobile

I have participated in Old Town Trolley Toura in other cities but the polka in St. Augustine really are organized and strive to put the customer first. A member of my family is in a wheelchair - we were treated like royalty eh from the time we arrived until we left. The workers loaded the wheelchair with no complaints - only smiles. (This means so much to the person in the wheelchair and to the family.) Our tour guide, "Poppy", did a wonderful job driving and narrating the tour. A must do for any St. Augustine visit.

“Good tour if you have time constraints”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 11, 2013

If you only have an afternoon to spend in St. Augustine, taking a trolley tour is a good idea. It is a very informative and an interesting 90 minute tour of the highlights of St. Augustine. You get a tour of the highlights of the city and lots of interesting information about each of them. The best idea is to do the entire 90 minute loop and presentation. Then decide what museums or attractions that you would like to see and disembark at these sights. There are 22 stops and pick up areas along the circuit that pick up passengers every 15 minutes, so it's very tourist friendly.Even though we were only there for 6 hours, it was still a worth the price as we would not have been able to see everything that we saw and learn so much about the area in such a short time. You also get a free admission to one of the museums with your trolley purchase. If you are lucky enough to be staying in the St.Augustine area, your trolley ticket can be used for 3 consecutive days.
Special note: There is free parking by some of the ticket kiosks when you purchase the Old Town Trolley Tours.

“Waste of money”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed March 9, 2013 via mobile

This is te first bad review Ive written- so hopefully it helps.

The short review-
If you are ok with walking, save yourself the money and time. We walked the whole city easily and had a great time. The city spans 10 minutes from most hostoric city parking. Parking isn't expensive and there are free places to park too. (Parking is 6$ for four hours and is easy to find and free after 5pm).

Long review-

Horrible tour company. In three days, we were only able to get on to three trams due to the amount of people who just ride the tram around and never get off at the station. so instead of every 15 minutes- it's really a 45 minute wait. Or... you can just walk in 10 minutes anywhere in the historic area(which is what we eneded up doing). The first tram had terrible audio- which is expected in these sort of tour companies. So we passed that one off, as nothing is perfect.

The next day, we decided to hop on a tram an hour before our schedule walking tour. But we ended up having to get off 5 stops before because the tram was running so far behind schedule. (The operator did apologize for the delays). The next tram, our third one, we waited for 40 minutes to take. This is their beach trolley and a selling point for the company. The tram only runs from the morning with the last stop at 430 pm. They post this everywhere(not convenient times at all). Except they forget to mention the beach bus ends at 330pm. So in order to get a trip back, you have to be on the beach bus by 230 at the latest. Glad we waited an hour for that disappointment! We weren't the only one's either. Two other families were met with the same disappointing news.

So we walked back to our car(because the tram after the beach trolley was full) and drove over to the lighthouse ourself.

“wonderful way to see the area”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 7, 2013

The guide/drivers are very knowledgable and eager to bring the history of the town to life for the guests. It is a great way to get around the area without having to find a parking space throughout the town (limited space). Though some of the greeters at the stops could use a refresher on customer service.
